Hail, admirals!

I've just gotten into Battlefleet Gothic, despite having ships for a fleet for yonks. The warp hasn't made time translation as I'd hoped but better late than never.

I'm currently painting up an Imperial fleet, set around Ultramar and the 13th Legion of the Heresy era, such that I've actually got a 3D printed version of the Macragge's Honour. She's massive and I'm currently waiting on delivery of another brass piece to hold it up, such is its size!

Anyway, here's is my Apocalypse class battleship, painted Sunday and I'm super proud of it, not least of all because it was metal and a nightmare to paint!

Show us your ships, fellow admirals! And any time honoured tales of grandeur are always appreciated.

Many thanks!

Mine too, I've had this model for years and only recently got into the game. So happy to get it painted up as my first miniature for the fleet.

Glad to hear of another fan of this model, got any stories of its usage you'd like to share

I actually think in generates its own gravity lol.

Might paint it in stages mind.

Which makes me think... if it's 26km long in-universe, what was the logistical nightmare of painting it! Maybe they use coloured metal.

'Whips, Idaho, they used massive, massive whips.'

They have metal called Ultramarine, so perhaps it was actually produced in components then STC cerakoted or some-such before assembly - you couldn't apply it in a vaccum, unless it could be completely enclosed. However, those shipyards were big...

Armageddon offers sandblasting, I hear.

Apologies for double-post, but @Captain Idaho threatened me with poke from a wonky banana unless I ponied up, and dug out my own BFG Collection.

  • 2 x pewter BB's (beats a dreadnaught in a sock, I tell you);
  • 4 x pewter SC's,
  • 3 x FW Gladius Frigates (left side)
  • 3 x pewter Novas (behind and above them to the right)
  • 4 x pewter Gladius (bottom middle)...

...And, FW resin Thunderhawks.

Thunderhawks, son. Thunderhawks for days. My regular opponent at the time I got to play this fine game, referred to them as 'Stupid Space Marine Buses!' because of the ridiculous amount of Hit-and-Run attacks they provided to set all his ships on fire.

Could do with a colour-matched lick of paint, though..!

Man they look great. Battle barges are so imposing, especially as they're metal and thus prone to causing serious injury if dropped from even minor heights.

I too am loving the Thunderhawks. Totally jelly.

Only issue is the Ultramarines blue is somewhat off?

  • 2 weeks later...

Done my Dictator, just needs gloss satin finish:

Got an Armageddon all but completed too. It is 3D printed but the Voss prow makes it stand out anyway so it kinda works.

Not to toot my own horn here, but I picked up 30 x white metal Thunderhawks - for under a tenner! :woot:

They're in great condition...here's one of them. Look!

How do we know that isn't a giant dice?

You are right. The model is the size of my car, and this photo was taken from space.

The D10 is my house.

On a more practicable note, do you have enough Hanger space on all your ships to house that many Thunderhawks?

Practical: in Battlefeet Heresy, yes, I just might...

Theoretical: Who cares, Tro? Thunderhawks!

The momentum I've got for painting is suitable to mirror the size of a ship!

2 Tyrant class cruisers:

These 2 are 3D printed, but they look pretty accurate.

Now just 1 more ship and I've got the 1500pts fleet ready to roll.
