Well I am mainly interested in building battlefield scenes , heavily inspired by the warhammer world dioramas . So far I have 2 6’ tables with just battle mats and units and terrain on top . What i want to achieve is building 3d terrain tiles with foam and other existing terrain pieces and such to make a accurate trench table For my Krieg and Tyranid faceoff , and my other table Spacewolves and Tyranids. So for that table I would like to make some snowy hills and mountains , potentially the Fang fortress. Need advice on materials used and techniques creating the 3d tiles sculpting the foam

Good morning @Naughtyfrog88 and welcome the the B&C! The projects you mention sound amazing! You might also want to check the youtube channel, 'Eric's Hobby Workshop', where the titular Eric builds mostly terrain for his games, both 40k/Necromunda as well as Mordheim and Fantasy.

Really explanatory with lots and lots of DIY stuff!

Goodmorning @WBRBloom , thank you ! I will definitely be checking out that youtube channel . I now have a list of channels to check out ! Now to find the time haha , glad to see the warm response and others interested in similar ideas. This is something ive wanted to do for years but havent had the space and little time for it until recently . I appreciate the info !

Hi Barry and welcome to B+C!

I did a diorama some years ago about trench warfare, Dkok vs Death Guard.

Feel free to ask me via pm questions or suggestions, if you want:smile:

Builiding terrains is super fan indeed so good luck with your future projects and have fun!

Welcome, @Naughtyfrog88

We currently are half way through the Call to Arms painting event (it runs until September 15), so if you want to paint to the encouragement of the other members, think about throwing your hat into the ring.
