I've ignored Kill Teams (much to my regret) and now I am catching up, there are some cool models, those Murder-wing look awesome! The Celestian Insidiants also look fantastic and when I start my Sisters of Battle army, I'll include a few squads of these.

It's one of those happy times where I collect both armies in a set, makes it all the more tempting

I believe that it contains 1 chaos lord with jump pack and 5 murderwing which could be built as raptors, warp talons, or the kill team operatives.

Thank you to yourself and the other individuals for the clarity. When I'd looked online I hadn't seen it was a lord and couldn't find one way or the other. That makes more sense.

The Decent rules seem like a really cool concept, but we currently only have 3 types of Killzone, right?

Normal, Indoors and Platforms.

I hope we get rules for another type of Killzone to mix with this, especially if those rules are provided as a download rather than as part of a box.

Judging from today's painting article, there are alternate, armoured legs for the mutated raptor so you're not stuck with the chicken legs.

Good spot, you're right. I wondered if it might have been a conversion but there are two iterations of that model without the shorts on. That would have made me a lot more interested had it been clearer.

The sprue looks pretty interesting. I rather like the glaive bit and the power sword like the one from the old Chaos Space Marine models. Does this mean you can build all 5 marines in the kit as power armoured, so without the mutant leg? I'd want to use some for Horus Heresy and the mutation would look out of place.

The singles for the Wolf Scouts is the real news.

Yep, pretty excited for these. Dead Silence sold out really fast in my country.

I want both teams but already have the chaos lord with jump pack and, with no terrain, I don't think this boxset represents good value for once, so am skipping it.

Agreed. Unless you can get it at a discounted rate, then it's ok for a free book on the new warzone rules.

An updated plastic kit in 2026 with MORE options than its predecessor!?! Good LORD!

Seriously!

(Though it is a three sprue kit now, whereas the previous incarnation was on two sprues.)

  • 5 bodies (with 5 toe options) -> 5 bodies (with 1 mutant legs option, and 1 chest plate option)
  • 5 Jump Packs (with 5 "wings") -> 5 Jump Packs (with 5 "wings", 1 "mutant wings", 1 "speaker wings")
  • 10 heads -> 16 heads
  • 5 "speaker" pads, 5 "plain" pads -> 5 "speaker" pads, 5 "plain" pads
  • 5 BP+CS -> 5 BP+CS
  • 1 PG, 1 MG, 1 Flamer, 3 PPs -> 1 PG, 1 MG, 1 Flamer, 3 PPs
  • 5 Warp Claws -> 5 Warp Claws
  • 1 PF, 1 PS -> 1 PF, 1 PS, 1 "mutations", 1 "glaive", 1 "chainaxe"
  • [no accoutrements] -> ~10 grenades, holsters, knives, etc bits

Tarantino will be disappointed, but for everyone else the loss of some toe choice is pretty minor. (Of course, from a practical standpoint they could have dropped the Bolt Pistols, but they don't take up much room.)

Quite a few up on eBay with multiple copies from each seller supposedly available which is very disappointing to see.

I had been tempted to try and get this box but decided against it. The Kill Team section on Warhammer Community has some (all?) of the Tomb World rules and missions so I'm hoping the ones from this box are released on there and I can adapt my Gallowdark terrain. Maybe pick up a scalped rulebook if it isn't too expensive.
