Not sure if this is the right place to post this - if not I apologise!

I've noticed lately some of my posts are turning red and saying 'pending approval' - is this a new forum thing? If so, is it a response to a lot of spam lately or something?

If it's not a new thing, I don't want to add to moderator workload if I can avoid it, so is it tied to any particular words used in the post? Or am I just on a naughty list for some reason?

Members in the + FRATER NOVUS + group (not you) must have their content reviewed and approved before it will be visible to other members.

For other members, the system's filter kicks in if certain words/phrases/acronyms/abbreviations [hereafter referred to as "terms"] are used. In general, these are terms that have multiple uses, some legitimate and some inconsistent with our community rules. Since these have legitimate uses, however, they aren't converted into something else (e.g., common profane terms are converted into :cuss:). Instead, a member of the staff will review the content to determine if the usage is appropriate. If it's inappropriate, the term will be removed/edited or the content may be permanently hidden (in which case the member posting it will no longer see it, too). If it's appropriate, the content will be approved. For example, a term that has triggered this review quite a bit lately is "BS." An appropriate usage of that term is the game's acronym for "Ballistic Skill." We all know what the inappropriate usage of this term is. Another example is "fascist." When used as a description of the Imperium of Mankind, this may be appropriate. When used to attack other members, this is definitely inappropriate.

If you see your content pending approval in this way and you don't think there is anything wrong with it, you don't need to edit it - we'll approve it quickly. If you know that you've used a term in a manner that we will likely consider inappropriate, you may want to edit it.

And for those of you that may be wondering, this post will trigger the review and I'll have to evaluate my own post to determine if the terms in it are used in a manner that is consistent with the community rules, editing/hiding it if they are not and approving it if they are.
