3.0 Veteran Tactical Squads

Hello fraters,

 

What do we think the role of Veteran Tacticals is now?
 

Their Line (1) makes me think they want to be on objectives. But what loadout? Disintegrators they'll just blow themselves up. Volkite chargers feel too short-ranged. Bolters they're just plain worse than a larger squad of regular tacticals for the same cost with Fury. What's their job here? Load up with combi-meltas in a Rhino?

Deop pod, Disintigrators, come down, kill a squad on an objective and take it on their own.

Agree. If you're not sure of using disintegrators, try other weapons like plasmas or melta, but deploying with drop pod I think is the best way to use them. After all, one or two units in deep strike are more than enough in my opinion in the current edition,in an standard army list. And Tactical Vets in drop pod are one of the best options available for Legiones Astartes.
