Agreed, it is up to people. The last game I pre-ordered when I had faith in the industry was Cyberbug 2077....after that, it's never again for me.

I expected issues from CDPR because every game they had released prior to Cyberpunk was a mess at launch. Also, access to the game prior to launch was extremely limited. Like I outlined in my previous post - that woudn't pass my sniff test for a pre-order. Objective, plentiful and easily available information should be there for us to make an educated decision.

But other games like FF7 Rebirth, BG3, Expedition 33, Armored Core 6, Space Marine 2, Tekken 8, etc etc etc have all been great from day 1.

In the case of Dawn of War 4, this game has already been available for certain influencers and gaming critics to sample for some time. Angry Joe, in a recent video, has admitted that he knew of this game and had been part of a trial and has played it. He will be sharing footage and more opinions soon, but he enjoys the game.

If the dev is allowing access to the game to 3rd parties months before release, and their opinions are positive, then that fills me with confidence.

I get the confidence, I'm still not preordering until I've at least put hands on keyboard with it.  There's no benefit any more to giving up your money early; back in the day it made sure you at least got a disc on release date, but now it's all 1's and 0's, there's no benefit to preordering, as even usually preorder bonuses will still be applicable for like a week after a game releases.

I don't take everything he says as gospel, but if he was liking it then that seems at the very least, promising. I was surprised to see AdMech and looking forward to getting more info about their role in the game.

Yeah I agree, and I should mention all of my pre orders that I mentioned above have been for physical games.

I agree that without an incentive there is no point, even if the game is going to be great.

I'm sure there's a video of angry Joe praising DoW3 before it was released, so wouldn't put much stock in it

That said, from what I've seen/read/heard so far, I'm optimistic

He talks about that. He liked how it looked but had never played it.

But he's not some great arbiter of gaming. A few people have been talking it up.

We still need to see pure, un-edited gameplay.
