While working on my BA sucessor, I got my Templars supplement, and adding to the mix the End and Death trilogy that I just read, it got me thinking on creating a DiY based on one of Sigismund Seconds that survived the Heresy and got a 3rd founding chapter.

But how could I thematically make it different of the Black Templars?

How would be the mentality of someone that witness Sigismund and the Astronomican in the Siege?

What culture would be instiled in the chapter?

Im in a bit of a rut, and some perspective would help.

I think that the Black Templars are into the divinity of the Emperor not (only) because he is a being of immense power, but because Siggy followed the tip of the first imperial saint (Keeler), and managed to do much more than if he followed Dorn's orders.

Thus, this belief in saints, for someone who worked with Siggy, is something that could be played on. Moreover, you could make that this underling had some sort of specific job, like Techmarine.

Then you have the reason for the color (red/crimson), the thread connecting to Siggy (thus templar) and a possible theme (vehicles). This will also work with Godhammer lists.

Im creating the background for the caracther, Sebastian Korr which I used for another DiY. (By coincidence the Templar Supplement has Sebastian Korrman as an option, so its fitting)

I thought of him to be one of the Templar brethren thus the Templar connection.

He would have witnessed the Power of Faith and also the corruption of Death Guard and the Warp, maybe only the Power from the Emperor is considered pure.

Ok Im getting some ideas.

The official description of the chapter is:

[Crimson Templars Chapter] treads the very rim of known space, guarding against terrors from without.

Im thinking they have a string of fortresses near Halo Stars and protect the area.
