The Pounder
Ok everyone, I have decided to start 1 thread to condense all my projects into one place rather than having loads open at once. To begin with I’ll be showcasing my Krieg but when the mood takes me there will be random moments of other things! My approach to the hobby is scattergun at best, I’m constantly painting models just because so I thought a place to share my journey without going off topic would help keep everything together. Here’s my second Krieg Artillery: Krieg Artillery Team Krieg Artillery Team Krieg Artillery Team Krieg Artillery Team Thanks for looking! Next up some Korpsmen to enter the fray. Kurgan the Lurker, hauteclere, Raziel-TX and 7 others 4 6 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386548-the-pounder%E2%80%99s-40k-and-hh-project-log/ Share on other sites

Dr_Ruminahui
Love your paint job on the model and the way you did its base. You really captured that gritty WWI French feel. Brother Anderson
This is great, you've really nailed that gritty trench aesthetic! The Pounder
Thanks @space wolf! I’m currently working on some Korpsmen, hopefully not too long until the next update! Cheers @Dr_Ruminahui, I’m trying to raise my basing game with this project, the Krieg really lend themselves well to gritty bases. @Brother Anderson glad you think so! Next up more Korpsmen! The Pounder
Got some more Krieg for this update! 10 Infantry. I painted these in twos to try and be efficient. I really need to get my head round batch painting! This is the last part of my vow for the Call to Arms event! Grotsmasha
15 hours ago, The Pounder said: I really need to get my head round batch painting! Batch painting can be tricky because it feels like you're not making much progress, and the models sit in their "ugly" stage for a while. I recommend for batch painting that you do all Base Colours, and Washes then take one model at a time and Layer and Highlight it, completely finishing it. This (to me) balances out the ugly stage and seeing actual progress mental perception nicely. The Pounder
I think that’s what holds me back from doing it! I’m someone who craves that dopamine hit from completion! Next Infantry Squad I work on I’ll try and do as you say, break it down and do the “ugly” work first! Thank you very much for the advice. The Pounder
Thanks @MetalFingers! I try to keep things as grungy as possible with my Krieg! Next up I’ll be finishing my rendition of Lord Solar Leontus. Tallarn Commander
Your sentinel is top-notch. I especially like the weathering and the base. May I ask how you achieved the nice rust color on the barbed wire? I have 15 of the old-style sentinels and until now I have not been interested in the new sentinel kit. But after seeing what you did to the new kit, I think I'll paint up a couple someday. The Pounder
Thanks @Tallarn Commander! For the barbed wire I paint it Leadbelcher, coat it with Ratling Grime Comtast, then I add small area of Doombull Brown then a final spot highlight of Skrag Brown. I’m about halfway through Lord Leontus, so I reckon I’ll get there! Thanks again for the interest! Tallarn Commander
Thanks! I'll have to try that recipe. I recently bought Ratling Grime Contrast but I haven't used it yet.
