Anyone else tempted by a cheeky little ally detachment or two for the new edition?  I'm thinking a little Black Watch (Champion & 10 man Centurion Command Squad from sprues and bits I have) and a little Custodian Guard force (Shield Captain & 4 man Sentinel Guard Squad only costs one box) to ensure that my Emperor's Children stay on the right side of the Emperor.

A small Solar Auxilia group also looks really tempting and if you have some random old Engineseers you can now chuck them in for a cheeky 30 points.

I don't like to use allies in my list, but maybe I add an small group of Mechanicum troops. Just a Magos and a pair of blood slaughterers. Maybe one extra, cheap unit. Or some Word Bearers and Gal Vorbak...

But is just to give some use to some miniatures I own.

Since my group has a Thousands Sons, Word Bearers and Daemons of the Ruinstorm player (all the Same guy too) Sisters of Silence is my go to for my Raven Guard. Eventually maybe those new shiny combat boxes of Solar Auxila one day

I'm going to get a little primary Detachment of Admech to lead my Dark Angels. Space Marine Tanks are great at helping out with Admechs narrow Anti-Tank options and also provide some beefy bodies for all that battlesmith to repair (I think krios' and most automata ho down so quickly that they''ll rarely stick around to be repaired once they start taking damage) and Admech provides Vanguard on units with proper guns, one of the few things you just don't get with legions

I don't think allied detachments work. I started a little allied detachment of Mechanicum last edition. I've now bought about 2000pts worth.

Sisters of Silence is tempting though. Just gonna hold out to see if they get any love when Talons get refreshed.

I'm collecting some Sons of Horus set during the Scouring era and looking at maybe some Militia to represent the Cultists (cannon fodder) the surviving marines are using to help escape the Sol system. I see there is a PDF for that now and just need to find some suitable minis for them, there are quite a few about.

Also some Mechanicum robots - again the marines are just using any and all tools available to them. Can imagine some fast-moving Vorax battle automata ranging ahead of the marines trying to find gaps in the net closing about them.

I am constantly tempted by a cheeky Allied detachment!  But traitor EC don't play well with others. Maybe some daemons, but will have to wait and see what they look like.

How about some AoS cultists for a living wall (flesh within, flesh without?)

Also Glutos Orscollion, Lord of Gluttony's throne with Fabius Bile conversion as a display piece could be fabulous.
