About Armistos in 3.0

Yesterday, bored at home, I started putting together a Consul Armistos with some unused spare parts I had lying around. Now I have two Armistos, one with a Heavy Bolter and one with a Plasma Cannon.

After reading the new profile in the Legacies 3.0 PDF, page 62, I honestly don't see much of a fit for it in the current edition's army lists. It no longer has a Cognis Signum, nor access to "Master Crafted" heavy weapons because they no longer exist, only standard heavy weapons, and the Implacable Advance rule makes no sense for it. It has an Augury Scanner and the ability to purchase a melee weapon from the Sarges section, which isn't much for a heavy weapons-oriented character.

 

The only uses I see for it, for about 80 to 95 points total (plus a chainsword or a chainaxe, which are free), are either giving a heavy weapon with 5 BS and an Augury Scanner to a unit that normally can't carry one or both of those items, or serving as a sort of "Lone Wolf" sniper to try to destroy or damage isolated targets like Vehicles, taking advantage of cover and a good position (Although, without the Infiltrate ability, it's pretty lackluster).

 

Any ideas, suggestions, etc.?
