Would track with none of the Chaos Armour sets being TSons. Would make sense, especially since, other than a staff, which would most likely be exclusive to ot, it'll be able to utilise swords and axes without much faff. Other than that a chaplain could also work though I could see them be a bit awkward with equipment and the fact that the story, and therefore a chunk of the PvE missions, already feature Chaplain Quintus who most definitely didn't get deployed. Librarian it is. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386603-space-marine-2-year-2-roadmap/#findComment-6130029 Share on other sites

But the inclusion of the sword also sends me down the rabbit hole to wonder if we are going to get a Raptor release on the miniature side given that they're on transfer sheets now, and you have their inclusion into SM2 which would indicate they've been talking to GW about how they should look. I believe a while ago Valrak said he also heard something about the Carcharadons possibly getting something, which could coincide with the roadmap here. I have been off SM2 for a bit now after getting ~500 hours in it and running out of things to do, so this is exciting. I am really interested to hear more about the cosmetic overhaul though that they've teased but didn't mention here. Q1 for the Techmarine is a bit disappointing but I can live with it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386603-space-marine-2-year-2-roadmap/#findComment-6130036 Share on other sites

Alby the Slayer
2 hours ago, Ramell said: That Xenophase Blade sure is some good timing with the new Deathwatch Kill Team. Almost like they planned it. I think we will see the xenophase blade with the deathwatch in the redacted(in necron green) segment near the raptors, 9 months from now almost probably. But maybe the killteam releases were rushed whey the leaked the nightbringer? Who really knows. Also it's always fun to have theories but for me at least I will not looking too much in what chapters they will release for SM2 and what we will get as miniatures/rules. Often the two things are not related, sadly. Negativity in my post aside, I am very happy to see such a beefy roadmap. My biggest fear when they announced SM3 was that year 2 was going to be anemic in terms of content, so I'm very happy to see something substantial like this Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386603-space-marine-2-year-2-roadmap/#findComment-6130039 Share on other sites
Nephaston
Speak of the devil, the community update is a bit more detailed. Put in quotes because it's a long'un. Focus Together Community post. Quote Greetings Space Marines, We hope you had a wonderful and sunny summertime. The whole team wants to thank you for the warm welcome you gave to the previous Community Update. We were so pleased to see your enthusiasm for the Chaos Spawn, Black Templars, the new PVP game mode, etc! You also asked us for news about Techmarine, and we've got some this month! This Community Update has a bunch of surprises and a community survey, so read it carefully! Let’s start off with the BIG news! YEAR 2 IS JUST ROUND THE CORNER! We’re so close! The second year of content for Space Marine 2 is about to begin. Let’s take a look at the free content first and then DLC Content, in this trailer! Expect the Patches to be released at a similar pace to what we were used to during the first year of content updates. Several PVE missions, the Techmarine class coming with Patch 12, cosmetics for Blood Angels, Carcharodons, Iron Hands and much more await with this Season Pass. Check the Roadmap! PATCH 10 - ANNIVERSARY UPDATE The Anniversary Update is planned to be rolled out on September 4! It’s a free update, but also marks the release of the Season Pass II and its first two DLCs. Let’s see the content of this Patch in more detail, shall we? THE CHAOS ARMOUR PACK: The Chaos Armour Pack is coming for free. You’ll finally be able to change the armour set of your Heretic Astartes in PvP, but you’ll have to unlock the set first. Each class will require you to score a certain amount of kills per match to unlock the corresponding skin. NEW GAME MODES: HELBRUTE ONSLAUGHT (PVP) A brand new mode will be added with this update, and will be playable on all maps. Here’s your brief: Two teams of Chaos Marines will fight to control strategic areas, but also to take control of the Helbrute. The first team to take control of an objective gets to control the Helbrute, until the opposite team takes it down. One player gets to control the Helbrute at a time, and this player will be picked randomly among players who participated in securing the control point. For the team that failed to secure the first control point to have the Helbrute on their side, they will need to slay their opponents’ Helbrute and secure a new designated control point. Controlling the Helbrute grants the team a strong advantage, but killing it rewards significant amounts of points to your team. One last thing, the Helbrute uses a Helbrute Thunder Hammer in melee, and a Plasma Cannon in range, and it can unleash a battle cry with its special skill to regenerate its HP. STRATAGEMS (PVE) Stratagems are a completely new PvE game mode. Unlike “classic” Operations, there are only 2 difficulty modes: “Normal” and “Hard”. What makes this new game mode different are the various Battlefield Conditions, which will change every day and week and make each operation completely different from what you’re used to. Battlefield Conditions can either help or hinder your progress. Upon successful completion, you will receive a new currency called “Accolades”, which can be exchanged for valuable rewards. There are weekly and daily Stratagems, and each Operation has their own set of modifiers. Here are a few examples of them: Summoner: Every uninterrupted call for Reinforcements summons the Extremis enemy. Where you aiming at: Friendly fire damage from firearms and explosives is enabled Cadia Stands: Imperial Guards spawn on levels. Hunted: An unkillable Lictor constantly pursues you. Dealing enough damage will scare it away for a brief time. And many others that you’ll have to discover for yourself! NEW PVP AND PVE MAPS OPERATION: VORTEX The Astropathic Relay has once again fallen silent. Investigate and cleanse the relay of any lingering heretical presence. This map has a special, unique boss, the Mutalith Vortex Beast. We don’t want to spoil too much, you’ll have to wait for the update to drop on September 4 to discover its moveset! ETERNAL WAR MAP - BRIDGE A new PvP map will also be added, called “Bridge”. With long hallways and small tunnels, this map offers diversified battles and multiple possible strategies to dominate the battlefield. Here’s how it looks: WEAPONS TO BE ADDED IN THE ARMOURY Two months ago, we showed you the Power Axe for the first time. Today, let us introduce the Power Axe in action! Hero Weapon Variants will also be implemented. These variations can be exchanged against Accolades (from playing Stratagems Mode, more on that new mode below). They fall in a new mastery tier named Heroic, which is even more powerful than Relic. For example, here’s the Xenophase Blade, the Heroic version of the Power Sword, and the Combi Melta, the Heroic version of the Bolt Rifle: NEW MAJORIS ENEMY: CHAOS SPAWN Brace yourself Space Marines, this one might give you a hard time. Coming with a total of 3 variations, the Chaos Spawn enters the fight. Swifter and more agile than its bulk suggests, the Chaos Spawn constitutes a formidable enemy. Stand ready. We shall know no fear. ⚔️ WHAT ELSE? A selection of skins that were initially unlockable through time-sensitive Community Events will be purchasable in exchange of your Accolades earned in Stratagem mode, in the "Refinement & Redemption" shop (which extends the current "Data Refinement" shop that was used until then to trade your Requisition points and Armoury Data). Among them: the Porphyr Shield Chainsword Skin, the Mark X Tacticus breastplate with the 3 skulls, or the Sergeant Metaurus’s Iron Halo from the Secret Level episode. This patch has more surprises in store, but we've already revealed enough! Let's keep some suspense for September 4, when it will be released! NEW DLC COSMETICS The Anniversary Update brings Season Pass 2! Discover the first two Chapters available in this patch: the Black Templars and the Imperial Fists. BLACK TEMPLARS CHAMPION PACK (Bulwark) The first class to receive a Champion as part of the Season Pass 2 is the Bulwark! We know how much you enjoy this class, so we naturally wanted to pair it with one of the most appreciated chapters from the Grim Dark future, the Black Templars! In addition, the Black Templars Champion Pack brings a unique skin for the Power Sword, as well as a Storm Shield and a unique Chapter Banner. IMPERIAL FISTS COSMETIC PACK The Imperial Fists is the first returning chapter of this year’s Season Pass II! Complete your Champion Pack with over 40 new cosmetics and heraldry marking inspired by 7 of their Successor Chapters, including: Celestial Lions Hammers of Dorn Invaders Red Templar Sons of the Phoenix Subjugators Crimson Fists CHAMPION SKIN CUSTOMISATION Moreover, Champion skin customisation is now available. You can mix the various armour parts of the Champions, for instance you can put the Dark Angels Champion’s helmet on an Assault Marine and mix it with the Imperial Fists Champion’s pauldrons. However, please note that not every armour part will be available for mixing in every class. For example, the Dark Angels Champion’s helmet can’t be equipped on the Sniper. Don’t hesitate to try the boldest combinations! ANY NEWS ON THE TECHMARINE? You expressed your enthusiasm after the announcement of our next class! Today, we are pleased to give you an estimated date for its implementation in the game. The Techmarine will join the ranks in early 2026 with patch 12! It’s yet too early to show you any designs, even a WIP asset, or to tell you more about the specificities of this Class. But if you read the Roadmap carefully, you know that he will come with his Omnissiah Axe! We’ll keep you posted until its release. Bear with us! THE ULTRAMARINES CHAMPION IS BACK The Ultramarines Champion Pack will be purchasable as a standalone DLC! For those who may not know, the Ultramarines Champion Pack was previously available only with the purchase of the Ultra Edition. Starting September 4, with the Anniversary Update, that will no longer be the case! Players who own the Standard or Gold Editions will now be able to purchase the UM Champion Pack separately. The pack includes a unique skin for the Heavy class as well as a matching skin for the Heavy Bolter. COMMUNITY SURVEY We're looking for your feedback regarding Space Marine 2! Your answers will help us better understand your experience with the game so that we can make the best possible improvements and future developments. Take a few minutes to fill this survey: click here POLL RESULTS This month, we asked you your thoughts on a possible re-balancing of the Contested Health, by reducing the amount of contested health regenerated by ranged weapons and increasing it for melee weapons. The poll received a total of 1918 votes. 1202 of you picked in favour of a change that will increase the contested health recovery for melee weapons. You were very vocal about this potential change, let’s hear a word from our Game Director regarding this result: We understand that this is a very touchy subject and we will be extra careful with our changes. Ranged contested health will not be nerfed globally by tweaking 1 number. It doesn't work that way, plus there are some ranged weapons which already have inefficient ranged contested health recovery. Buffing melee contested health isn't going to just be increasing % value. There are certain Quality of Life features that need to be implemented for melee Contested HP to work properly (like CHP during grabs etc.). All of the changes on this subject will go through PTS testing first, so your feedback will be very much welcome. Thanks for participating and helping us shape the future of the game! TWITCH DROPS RETURN From September 4, 2025 (04:00 pm CEST) to September 18, 2025 (04:00 pm CEST), Twitch Drop returns with in-game rewards! Watch any Space Marine 2 stream to unlock: Watch 30 minutes to earn the Mark X Skull Breastplate. Watch 1 hour to earn the Mark X Pristine Aquila Breastplate. Watch 2 hours to earn the Porphyr Shield Power Axe skin. THAT’S IT FOR THIS MONTH As per usual, follow us on our socials to be updated with the latest news, and join the official Discord server along with the 70,000 other Space Marines already there! Thank you for your unwavering support. -Focus and Saber Some notable; chapter skin dlc can now have individual parts equipped across multiple classes, with some exceptions here and there, Blood Ravens can go full crayon marine. Xenophase Blade is a variant of the power sword which is unlocked via the new Stratagems mode, while the Combi_melta is that for the Bolt Rifle. These Variants are classified as "heroic", so we gotta work a bit before we can tote them around. This mode also includes previous Twitch-Drop cosmetics. Chaos customization still lags behind compared to loyalist cosmetics, but who knows, maybe that community survey enabled people to constructively ask the devs for better support there. And the previously unavailable Ultramarines skin will be made available independent of the collectors edition. Also, for fun and a bit of slander, unless the Helbrute has customization it retains its Thousand Sons colours in Helbrute Assault. @Indy Techwisp Edited 4 hours ago by Nephaston a link and a colour darkhorse0607 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386603-space-marine-2-year-2-roadmap/#findComment-6130040 Share on other sites

One of the standouts to me was Meat to the Slaughter boosting the amount of minoris enemies and cutting back on majoris, making the mission it's applied to a proper Gaunt/Cultist rush. Also These Souls are Dark making parries difficult but powerful is fun.
