Kronos
Good Yields Kin I’m making the Jump into Votann after being a big fan of the Lore (best 40k lore and concept, surely the most original and creative). I acquired a number of Ironkin Helmets from Taro Miniatures many Moons ago, as well and a Grimnyr but then left the project on Hiatus for a while. My main love in the hobby is kitbashing with a thematic drive behind it. The New models inspired me to take the project back on and was hoping for some community advice and ideas. My main idea is around Buri Aegnirssen, as the sole Survivor of the Emberg- Aegnir Bloc. So far my main idea is around a conglomerate of Votann who have been devastated by Tyranids and other Xenos factions. Lost Kindreds banding together into a new league partially Led by Buri and other Characters who have lost most of their League to Tyranids, Necrons, Hrud, Ghastly Moons and Fouler entities of the Galactic Core. So far I’ve come up with some of the Following, apart from Buri Himself - Name of the League - Ghyn-Uhngagap Unification Ancestor Core- The Voidborn, Votann of the Ghyn-Uhngagap Unification, where the Emberd Aegnir Bloc was devoided of all it’s biomass and driven insane, the Voidborn has has no Memory or recollection of it’s prior League, awoken by Buri on his travels through the Galactic Core inside a Barren Void Hulk, the Voidborn Votann remembers nothing of it’s Prior life, what its League was called, how long it had travelled the Galaxy, but it pruporse and functionality remaind the same - to Provide the Kin, and to Watch over the Clonskyns and Ironkin of the Ancestors. I - Grûm’Bryn Dhul, Living Ancestor of the Lost Leagues. - Memnyr (Just a cool but traumatised vetran of a hundred Wars, with Knowledge and scars having faced devastation untold and now using those experiences) -Ironkin Einhyr (Ironkin Survivors of Various leagues in the best armour ) - Ironkin Jotnar (Steeljacks, or sorts, but having survived millennia inside mining asteroids from Biomass devouring Xenos, they are now both Machine AI and Partly bonded to the Minerals and Ores they onces harvested. So Iron Kin with partly Golem like bodies. -Cthonian Berserk Slayerkyn (A Lodge within the Cthonian Guild, where other Berserks seek riches deep within Moons and Death Plants, violent star clusters and the pulsing Nuclear Mines on Frozen Suns; the Slayerkyn dedicate themselves to extracting invaluable minerals and rare resources from the Xenos species. From Squiggoth Offal Rocks to the rich Matter altering Oil found in Void Kraken. Slayerkyn seek the most exotic, and often dangerous, xenos life within the Galactic core, and it this creed that sees this most violent of Votann Guilds Oathbound themselves to Buri Aegnirssen and the Ghyn-Uhngagap Unification. Buri Aegnirssen - Oathbound Kâhl of the Ghyn-Uhngagap Alliance (wip) Possibly the least Amount of conversion I’ve done a model, because Buri is a gorgeous kit. So far the only changes I’ve made are a Couple of Tyranid scales as a Codpiece as I’m not overly crazy on the Smooth armour one that Buti and simialr Kin have. And probably kost noticeably the base. Had a lovely resin base kickibg around waitibg to be used. I’ll be sculpting some more rock work and then adding some more Tyranid Capillarly Spines and dead Sbán. The currwnt 54mm skull will be either sculptednover or changed into slain Nids. Kronos
Memnyrr (wip) 001100 010010 011110 100001 101101 110011 Iron Kin Jotnar (wip) . . . A homebrew kitbash I had in the works for some time befoee the steeljacks came out, too far in noe to pick up steel jacks . Conceptually they are the Ironkin sent to collect resources from the most inhospitable planetoids. Able to remain and work on asteroid belts, crushing gravity of Icy Death Worlds, and even reality bending horizons of black Holes. The Jotnar are self sufficient. Able to remain working and harvesting their payloads for decades at a time. When they step forth from their intensive collections they are covered from dome to foot in dust, soot and debris - ermerging from their mining exits like elemental giants of myth. Jotnar have a fierce rivalry with Cthonian Beserks, such competitvness goes beyond the acquisition of resources but also on the field of battle over which Guild can Slay the toughest of foes. The Jotnar’s heavy and endurable frames are ideal for mining, but equally ideal in battle pushed against armoured assaults and the behemoth monstrosities that lurk in the Cold Void. Kronos
The Ghyn-Uhngagap Alliance prepares to make planetfall against the Sbân. Had a blast building Buri and The Memnyr Strategists. I’ve decided to keep Buri In three segments - back pack, body and Head. I’ve no painted minis for a while so going to practice up a little before any of these get the brush. Kronos
Grûm’Bryn Dhul, Living Ancestor of the Lost Leagues, The White Raven (wip) . . This idea has been sitting in my head for the longest time. I told myself if Leagues got a decent enough model update I’d come back to the project I started a couple years back. Buri really was the kick I needed, but so too was groeing concept of the Leagues fighting back. Before Buri and the new Codex I had an idea of a Nomadic League, comprised of Dispossessed, Shattered Leagues, Refugees and Lost Souls: the Ghyn-Uhngagap Unification. The Idea was to have a Lord Grimnyr gathering and Guiding these Kin. Not Only to Exact Vengeance upon the Xeno’s, Humans, and Daemons, but also to Reclaim the Ancestral Home of the Kŷn. It’s a bit of an odd concept, and probably one disliked by the Wider Votann community. More soon as the the Homebrew Lore Develops. Kronos Posted yesterday at 12:13 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 12:13 AM Cthonion Berserk Ironkin . . . Started to Build my Cthonion Berserks which I’ll be making into Slayerkŷn with Mohawks and Beards. I didn’t want to waste a precious Berserk with a Mole Grenade Launcher as I want as many axes and Hammers as I can on the shelf, but I did want a Mole Grenade Launcher. So Needs must - I may still add another Ironkin to this. Kronos Posted yesterday at 01:32 PM Author Share Posted yesterday at 01:32 PM Buri Aegnirssen, The Thrice Devoured, Drake Slayer, Last of the Lost (wip) Some very slow Work on Buri, Or Rather, His Base. I want something more dioramic. Him in the thickest of the Tyranid infestation, but not quite standing on a dead Norn Emissary. I’ve been trying to have his pre existing base as the focal point and the working from there. I’ll be adding a few more capillary spikes and then get n With the sculpting. I want to add more Dead Tyranids and some left over mechanical Kŷn limbs, But Just a mountain of dead Nids, Kyn arms or another head might be overkill. Decisions. Kronos
Jotnar Iron Kin - “Troll Busters” Wip Kitbash for my Ghyn-Uhngagap Unification. Most of it was planned. Some bits changed as the kitbash developed. Particularly like the Seismic Dampners around the CU Dome. Dr. Clock
Please tell me that's not 600 dollars worth of actual Perturabos for a 100 pt unit lol It's a strong vibe at any rate. Cheers, The Good Doctor. Cheers, The Good Doctor. …maybe, no I kid, but they are real Perturabo bodies but I bought them on a bits Site, Think in total I probably spent between 60-80 GBP. Originally I had plans to do a Truescale Thunder Warrior Army using Primarch Bodies as my conversion bases but It was getting difficult to source arms and other bits so the project took a nose dive, held onto the Perturabos for quite some time wondering where they couod fit in my projects (they were close to becoming some Stupidly big World Eaters but Heresy WE just got no attwntion and my attention craves at least a bit pf a release. Then I realised A little while back I could work them as some sort of Large Ironkin (before steeljacks came out) and slowly started doing some work. Now I don’t play So the Point costs and base sizes don’t phase me, I just like making cool kitbahes. I don’t really make massive armies so I do go quite out for some of the Kitbashes getting big exciting bases and bits.
