Brother Tyler sent me an approval this afternoon and I logged in form the first time.

 

My first Space marine was somewhere around 1992, it was built and painted by my brother who was (and is) heavily into model building (airplanes, cars, etc.). My parents were adamant that warhammer wasn't the hobby for me. Disappointing at the time, perfectly understandable in hindsight.

 

So fast forward three decades, 200+ board games,  and 5 shelves of dungeons and dragons books and I had the urge to try painting a Space marine myself. I had seen the starter sets last year and I was intrigued, but a bit overwhelmed by the size of the game..then I saw the kill team starter set and read up on it.

 

Two months later and my Angels of death are painted, two plague marines are done and tomorrow I'll prime the other 5. I told myself that I'd paint the starter set before I bought any more models so we'll just ignore the Legionaries, Night Lords and Hivestorm box that are on my desk, shall we? The painting part is a blast and I'm extremely happy with my results so far.

 

I was looking for a forum to discuss building and painting. I'm trying discord, but that format doesn't click with me. So I'll try adding to the community and hope to get some tips on my painting!
