Let's share all our favorite Predator Weapon selections. Tell your turret and sponsons combo as well as pintle and other upgrades. What works best, what looks cool? What feels the most Horus Heresy? What feels like a Legion's signature tank?

Feel free to show pics of those paint scheme and markings as well.

Honest question: since the Vindicator looks so good this edition, what config would a Predator top that pls?

I mean it's got to be Autocannon & Heavy Bolters / Shrapnel Bolters / Assault Cannons for Imperial Fists / Iron Warriors

I was exactly hoping for something like this, except I noticed the Legion Tactics don't apply to Vehicles anymore.  For example, Dreadnoughts still get to use them because they're Walkers, not Vehicles, but stuff like that.  Really looking for an excuse to use a Predator or some such.

Well the Predator is a bit cheaper and has many options to choose from. I'm not saying the Predator is better but there is plenty to discuss and try out in this edition. It might be easier to squeeze in 100 points in the form of a Predator if you have a slot to spare.

Quad Lascannons are 30points cheaper than the laser destroyer and while they're certainly less destructive into high AVs, they are more reliable, have better range and are a solid multi-purpose choice against both vehicles and 2 Wound infantry, especially terminators.

EDIT: If you keep the sponsors cheap (I'd do so as you'll often need to move) the heavy-C-beam is cheaper than a demolisher cannon vindicator and, while lacking that ones anti-armour capabilities, much better into any kind of legion infantry. The Plasma destroyer fulfills a similar function at 5 points cheaper, but I think is outclassed by the C-beamer

I've tried the C beamer a couple times (admittedly last edition!) and really struggled to get both the distance required to max it, and LOS. I found I had to end up driving round corners and shortening the distance so never using it's full power.

Does 3rd ed change that? Arguably makes it even worse with Medium cover blocking LOS everywhere. And with fewer turns to make an impact, I'd be wary of fielding it vs something which more reliably brings its A game.

The range brackets are much shorter, giving you a large S7 AP3 D2 Blast at anything above 15" and S8 AP2 D3 outside of 30" which should still be achievable relatively often. Moving also isn't an issue since it only gets one pip of S from heavy which it doesn't need
