Viridia
Hi all, I bought some of the Cataphractii combi-weapons in the spoilered image. Has anyone had any luck magnetising them? Some of the combi-options look a bit flimsy and have nowhere near enough depth to allow for a magnet (3x1mm from Army Painter) to be inserted, so I'm considering one of the following options: A - drilling enough for two magnet's in depth into the bolter, so I can insert one magnet in the bolter, then gluing one to the weapon options so that when it attaches, it's actually inside the bolter B - drilling two smaller points and just using metal wire glued to the weapon options that would then be inserted into these connection points For anyone who has worked with these particular bitz, what is the recommended choice? Thanks in advance! (I did try and find suitable combi-weapons from third party makers, but none offered what I'm looking for) Spoiler Edited September 10 by Viridia Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386660-how-to-magnetise-cataphractii-combi-weapons/ Share on other sites
Cleon
Honestly I looked at similar and decided it wasn't worth it and made a best guess of which combi weapon I'd best live with. Solution Grotsmasha Posted September 11 Solution Share Posted September 11 I'd go with option one, using a longer magnet to double as a pin would be my go-to for these bits Viridia 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386660-how-to-magnetise-cataphractii-combi-weapons/#findComment-6131678 Share on other sites
Viridia
Thanks both! I ended up trying the two magnet option, messed up a little by not digging the hole deep enough on the bolter so the first magnet sticks out more than it should, but a little greenstuff has sorted out the gap issue. I'll make sure to avoid the issue on the other four.
