Space Marine Captain load-out question

Question: Master crafted bolter vs. Plasma pistol?

 

Other considerations: Power fist. Often with company heroes. I stress often, but not 100%. Sometimes assault intercessors, inner circle companions, sternguard. Faction: Dark Angels.  

 

 

 

Thoughts and feedback are greatly appreciated. My close friend said in the end it doesn't matter too much go with what you think is cooler, prefer to paint, etc etc ...

I prefer the MC Bolter. Double the range, Double the rate of fire and you get 2 Damage without having to overcharge. The only real advantage of the plasma pistol is the better AP. But your friend is right. It will rarely make a big difference one way or the other.

Thanks, and the fact he is often with Company Heroes and I like that 24" range and 2 shots it goes better with the shooters amongst them.

For the most part, double the shots just works out better.
