Two jump captains from the same army ought to be fairly similar yes? I think there's fair number of differences between the two.

Honestly I would have preferred a slightly different pose; running or even just standing would have been fine. Not every jump unit has to be modelled flying you know?

Would have been nice if they released a Jump Chaplain. Glad to see a captain with a Thunder Hammer though.

Since it didn't go away I assume it's gonna come out sooner rather than later...

I have no issue with the pose being similar. It's a human shape in armour, using a jump-pack swinging a heavy weapon.

 

The models should look similar. The real disappointment should be coming from the fact that they just couldn't give one mini all the options. 

 

I think people would have been happy to pay more for an extra sprue if we could build every variant of wargear.

I genuinely think the original intention for the JP Captain having the TH&SS options was because you were meant to be able to use the Primaris VanVet arms on the guy but those were delayed and we got this to tide us over.
Either that or the Primaris TH&SS didn't have a finalised design when the JP Captain was made.
