Antarius
So, as I couldn't manage to take any remotely decent pictures, my personal photo-wizardess eventually took pity on me and stepped up to the plate. So now I finally have some good pictures of my completed Nurgle Daemons (The Tyranids and Deathwatch will follow during the weekend). I hope you enjoy them and thanks to everyone who's been following my progress - your reactions and comments have been highly motivational, especially when it came to getting the stuff I didn't find super exciting done, so thanks once again! Without further ado, here are the pictures: And some more: Edited Thursday at 07:26 PM by Antarius Tallarn Commander, Alby the Slayer, OpossumStrong and 5 others 3 5 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386712-antarius-completed-cta-projects-2025-nurgle-daemons-tyranids-and-deathwatch/ Share on other sites
Firedrake Cordova
Really nice - the rust effect on the scythe is particularly nice! Â I really like the Beasts of Nurgle (I do love those particular models, anyway). Â Did you consider tinting the eyes away from white? They're a little hard to make out on the first model, and I didn't know if it would emphasise them a bit more..? Antarius
Yeah, the eyes on the beasts are a bit of a sore spot. I left them white because I figured they would look goofy with pupils and being milky white might give them a bit of "creepy blind stare", but I'm not sure I'm super happy with it, to be honest. Firedrake Cordova
Have you thought about giving them a glaze of thinned down Contrast paint to tint them (with the pigment hopefully being more concentrated towards the edge, giving it a bit of an outline)? Maybe a thinned down version of the pustules colour? Just a thought. Antarius
As you can see, we finally managed to get some pictures of the Tyranids and Deathwatch - I honestly can't remember how many of the Tyranids were part of the CtA vows at this point in time, but just putting them all on the table and letting them all run towards the Deathwatch marines (who will totally make it...) seemed like the thing to do. I hope you enjoy the pics - hopefully I'll manage to paint up the last of our Tyranid army (Gargoyles, Warriors and some more characters) before the next CtA - if not, they'll likely make an appearance again next year.
