Each squad of five miniatures comes with six unhelmeted heads, five helmets, five tilting plates with unique designs, and 15 additional accessories split between purity seals, Oaths of Moment, and other small badges. The sergeant also gets their own choice of two heads, a special storm shield variant, and two more tilting plates with fancier adornments.

Terminator armour is only assigned to those with a proven track record of excellence in battle, and many senior officers and veterans take it into the field. Ancients have been known to don it on particularly perilous battlefields, so they can better protect their company’s banner while combat rages around them.

These new combatants will be available first in a new boxed set: the Crux Terminatus Battleforce, named for the symbol of veterancy adorning every Terminator’s left shoulder, which legends say contains a miniscule fragment of the Emperor’s own armour. Not only do you get 10 of the new Assault Terminators and the Ancient in Terminator Armour, but also five regular Terminators, a Chaplain in Terminator Armour, and a Captain in Terminator Armour – that’s a decent portion of your entire First Company right there!

There’s also a new dedicated Terminator transfer sheet to go with it, comprising over 500 individual decals for the Ultramarines, Salamanders, Imperial Fists, White Scars, and Raven Guard – as well as plenty of generic icons and honour markings, such as campaign badges, checkered patterns, numerals, and scripture.

I guess updated VanVets are getting saved for a later reveal then...

These guys look great tho.

Seems the SW Terminator with the Lightning Claws was spot on for how the Assault Termie claws would look, huh.

I wonder what price point this will sit at? It would be an amazing splash release at the $170 USD combat patrol price. At the $230 Battleforce price, it represents a ~$50 savings but most of that comes from a generic HQ. Guessing it will be the latter, which is a bleak portent for Christmas box value.

Cool, I guess, now marine are back to having 75% of the attention cake, can we see something else cool?

Yeah! I'm looking forward to some Legions Astartes for Horus Heresy.

Since it's a Marine box, proabably whatever the Emperor's Children set was - if not a bit higher.

There's like three characters in there, which is going to crank it up a lot.

Is it me or are the chapters included on the 'Terminator' transfer sheet a bit odd? White Scars and Raven Guard, two chapters famed for not favouring terminator armour? Looks like the main bodies are slightly different to the regular terminator squad so will be good to get more variety.

Cool. I'm glad their shields retained their square shape, I like the shield the jump captain had too but I like these better.

I believe the Verbose and Voluminous One hath already foretold that the shape of the Captain's shield would only carry over to the Sergeant of this unit.

Which it has. Except that the Sarge here also gets an extended icon to fill up some of that space while the Captain's icon retained the uniform look.

Spoiler

Well there it is.gif

Out before Christmas I say.

Probably just because they're counted among the First Founding chapters without a codex.

Edit: Nevermind, just noticed Iron Hands aren't on there. Weeiirrdd.

Will they have the sense to produce more of these boxes than normal battleforces?

I seem to remember the set with the Brutalis was pretty easy to get for a long time (until the Desolation Marines became OP), which was unusual for a Marine set - even if the actual models were marmite - so it's possible, but equally I wouldn't hold my breath.

The Brutalis set wasn't a battleforce, though.

Snazzy. Does make me wonder what's in the 11th Edition pipeline though, as Assault Terminators felt like a pretty logical inclusion.

There's the expected VanVets update and there's the Jump Chaplain who's still in the codex somehow but might be the character coming alongside that unit (possible Shield option like the Termie Chaplain?).

There's also the matter of Tactical Marines and Devastators which IMO feel more likely to get their replacement/update with 11th edition rather than randomly at the end of 10th.

Besides them and vehicles, I can't think of anything else really.

There's some kits that are awaiting a proper multipart kit and/or standalone release like the Outriders and Supressors, but there's not really many of those left either.

New Terminators look pretty good, not overly blown away by them but I have no complaints, they are what they should be

Interested to see the transfer sheet distribution though. This is now getting to be a common trend where new transfer sheets are locked behind boxes (Imperial Fist combat patrol for example with the Crimson Fist stuff), so I really am anxious to see if they get released separately or not. Seems like a waste to design it just to lock it behind a limited box but who knows

They're both (presumably) FOMO boxes without a codex releasing close to the end of an edition, no?

Will probably be in the terminator boxes since it says Space Marines Terminator transfer sheet.

These look brilliant, I'm tempted to pivot some money I'm hoping to get soon towards this but I'm also anticipating this box to disappear quickly.

I'll be getting some assault Terminators but it may just take a while

Looking forward to painting some more Firedrakes before the year's out. I honestly did not expect this announcement alongside the Ultras, and it's cool, but it's again really confusing to see yet more marines toys coming out when Drukhari are releasing without a single proper new unit. These are far enough away from release I'm guessing that they could have easily waited until after the Drukhari release? Just... yeah, weird timing and choices.

I'm also still waiting on the Scars character biker... I'm guessing that'll be sometime in next 3-4 weeks? Probably we'll see the Scars combat patrol with him as the quick 40k cash injection for October?

Cheers,

The Good Doctor.
