You honestly place space marine terminators in the bottom 1% of the game?

1% was an exaggeration. My actual feelings are not off, where I think they're on the bottom 5-10% of the game. That's just as much a bewildering amount to bring down.

Terminators have had VERY few and far between moments where they worked (the Assault variety at least) and that's it. It hasn't stopped me from using a Terminator Chaplain with the new Raven Guard detachment with them (the T1 Deep Strike enhancement is cute here), but I'm also not going to sit and pretend those points aren't better utilized somewhere else, and I also won't pretend I want them as an entry in ANY other codex I play.

If I remember correctly, one of the Primaris upgrade kits (there were two) had a couple of Terminator shoulder pads.

There was only one, unless someone failed to CC me on the memo for a second. UMs haven't gotten any Terminator pads.

I love playing terminators in my

lists but they don’t really have a “niche” they can fill in the codex. I would rather they up the points cost of Terminators to around 210-240 a unit and made them better.

I feel too many units compete at the 150-180 range and it’s hard for many units to stand out, especially since we have Gravis now. The “stand in the mid board and shoot small things, hit big things” is done better by them. Terminators should, in my

eyes anyway, be a deep striking kill team designed to headhunt one particular unit. I like the load outs they have, and I like how they play. They just need a bit extra “oomf” to really feel like a unit that you should be scared of.

I don’t think their stats need changing massively. I’d give them one more attack on the stormbolters/fists/hammers and give them some an additional rule to do with deep strike. Either a re-roll charge or a “pick a unit and this unit can re-roll hits and add +1 to the wound role” (mini oath of moment, but just for the termies).

I don’t think they need loads changing honestly, but a little tweak to help them stand out would be nice.

Ah, you are correct. I read a description and thought that there were two different kits. It turns out that many of those shoulder pads that I thought were for Terminators were actually for Gravis (making them even less useful).

Once again His Rumourfulness Lord @Chapter Master Valrak helps me maximise my limited spending. Very glad the rumours have come true exactly as described and I put some money aside for it.

New assault terminators are exactly what I hoped for: modern terminators with smashy/slashy weapons. And I'm very glad we're back to the superior back of the wrist lightning claws over stabby knuckle dusters. Thunder Hammers are my usual go to but the new claws make it a difficult choice of what to build first.

I will definetly be getting one box for my Blood Angels. I have eight sprues worth of terminator shoulder pads from last years BA launch box in reserve and I've been saying for years I want to remake my 7th Ed Archangels Terminator force in modern scale.

A second box may be on the cards if ebay sales go well and if the disappearance of the old UM upgrade sprues does mean a new one in the style of BA and DA is on the way.

Read into this what ye will but I asked my FLGS about putting me down for a set - he contacted his GW rep who told him that they will be preorder mid November as one of the Xmas sets, around the £150 mark.

I predict the Ultramarines will get a sprue with bits for heroes, terminators and general infantry.
It would be nice if all chapter upgrade sprues came with weapons that are unique to said chapter.

I like that Dark Angels have the Terminator Plasma cannon, a unique option. I also like that Black Templars have the vehicle Melta (even though it must be a nightmare to get multiple Meltas at a sensible cost if you have a bunch of vehicles). I want more stuff like this for everyone!

I see we've hit the "Absurdly buff Terminators pls" part of the thread.

Unfortunaltely they ARE one of the worst options in the entire codex. They need some sort of boost, and not just more point drops.
