The old Battle Groups were £125.

The GW conversions puts €135 as £105.

So these are £20 cheaper 2 years later, but with half a box less, and 4 Sicarans instead of the Fast Attack box. That’s actually not that bad, I was expecting worse to be honest.

edit to add - Presumably, this is a permanent box set rather than a FOMO box as well.

Supposition only really.

They never really announce what the FOMO boxes are going to be, but these launched around the same time as the Heresy Combat Forces.

I think now every game has a proper faction specific starter set - Combat Patrol for 40K, Spearhead for AOS, Combat Force for Heresy, Combat Force: Micro Machines for Imperialis and Battalions for Old World. And all around the same pricing. It might only be the Lord of the Rings game that don’t have a faction starter box.

The branding certainly seems like it’s a permanent addition to the range. But then again, it’s GW, so who knows, really?

I think GW really should have taken the opportunity to release a new updated rule book separately. As a newby it makes no sense to buy one of these forces because the rules are only available in the starter box set.

Rules are available by themselves from the warhammer.com store. Both physical and epub: https://www.warhammer.com/en-GB/shop/legions-imperialis-rulebook-hb-eng-2023.
