ZeroWolf
I suspect we're going off on a tangent here that would be better suited in one of brother N1SB's threads (especially as he pointed out that 8th edition was a turning point for GW, something that Covid then magnified) On the main subject though, we are ultimately at the whims of the GW designers and whatever they decide to give us (whenever that maybe as realistically, we could be several years away before they get leaked/revealed). As I've said before, I do think it'll be via Killteam rather than 40k proper as that allows for more odd ball status, as well as a litmus test. If the models aren't to our liking, those with the right skill set will probably sort it out themselves given the abundance of options to do so (different plastic armour marks or 3D prints, take your pick). Frankly, I'm fascinated that a clearly fake image was able to generate this kind of heat. Just shows what staying power the LoD have in our minds (sorry Ferrus, don't think anyone even thought for a second yours was real) Scribe 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386757-possible-ferrus-manus-and-legion-of-the-damned-release/page/6/#findComment-6134086 Share on other sites

The models, much like the Sternguard, upcoming Terminators, and many other kits, will likely be fantastic. If there is one thing GW continues to do well, its release amazing kits (that sell out, and remain out of stock for months/years.) phandaal, ZeroWolf and Crimson Longinus 1 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386757-possible-ferrus-manus-and-legion-of-the-damned-release/page/6/#findComment-6134087 Share on other sites
Jukkiz
funny how little things have caused a snowball I just really wish that LOTD be either LOTD or mix armors kit. If it´s just 3-8MK armors, so be it. But if it has some primarinade in it, i don´t mind. Just don´t make it fully primaris, please. I think mods can peek in the thread already and give it a bolter by now ZeroWolf, ThaneOfTas, Larkhainan and 3 others 6 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386757-possible-ferrus-manus-and-legion-of-the-damned-release/page/6/#findComment-6134089 Share on other sites

The quality of the model was not the point I was making. And from what I understand, people have an issue with the face and wings - which have little to do with his armour. The point that it seemed to me that you were making was pointing to an example of a similar recent model that had been redesigned in a manner similar to how you are advocating for the LotD to be redesigned, using the precedent as an argument in favour of making the LotD be clad in MkX. The problem is that the precedent that you are using was exactly what the people disagreeing with you are seeking to avoid a repeat of. And as to which parts of the Sangionors model people had an issue with, while the face and the wings might have been the parts that gathered the most flack, I have seen significant criticism of basically every aspect of it, from the MkX features, to the proportions, pose and even how the sword looks, that model is just not popular, it's only the existence of the Sang Guard and the non-existance of the Death Company that keep it from copping more flak. Now for the record, having read through the rest of the thread. I don't think that you're a shill. I disagree with roughly 90% of your hobby takes, especially where aesthetics are concerned, but that doesn't make you a shill, nor should that make you unwelcome in hobby spaces. My problems with the hobby seem to be primarily coming from GWs IP protection efforts, and occasional apparent laziness in design, there's nothing about efforts to market to a wider audience that inherently has to be bad, that's just a question of execution.
