Last year, they were announced on October 5th so we may not have long to wait. GW is really trying to make Tau collections happen!

Will be disappointed if there isn't an Eldar option – an avatar with a range of aspects would be amazing. Or the Chaos Knight equivalent of the Imperial box. Fingers crossed!

Pleased to say none of those rumored boxes do much for me.

Nids Big bugs is a nice idea but I don't want another screamerkiller and neurotyrant so the value of this drops immediately for me.

I thought the same really. Another screamer killer might be fun (be better as a multipart kit) but as its still on the neurotryant sprue, that has to tag along and I certainly don't want another one of them.

Surprised not to see a Craftworlds box, they've got a lot of great models that could be included and by a similar token Votann now have a nice line up you could make a compelling Christmas box from. There's still time for them to show I guess, this might not be all of it. Nothing really for me though but hey ho.

One cannot be a fan of the current end of Yarrick but If they will make it reapper I hope is only to give him a proper hero death.

"The blood of the Martyrs is the seed of the Imperium" they say.

I think the Imperium well is pretty dry now.

Wouldn't be surprised to see an Eldar and Votann box set announced, both had big releases and no battleforce box to accompany them. It makes sense; release a big range, let the early adopters swarm over the new models for the full price, then release a discount box with the new models to get a second wave of adopters.

In current timelines the fellas gotta be pushing 200, maybe 250 years old? I kinda doubt he should be out there swinging a klaw from his zimmer.

Indeed.

There are things like rejuvination in 40k but even those has limits and if you don't want to retcon him as a hero of the second(943.41) and third war(998.41) on Armageddon when he was already old, I don't see why he is still around...

If he comes back again, at least most people will be happy it seems, so that's a positive thing.

250 is possible for a regular human with rejuvination. That isn't a far stretch.

Also.. Orks believe in him so that's all the reason you need for him to be imortal lol

Because GW has had since 2022ish to stand up new characters that people can rally behind and by and large they've failed to do so, so we bring back popular characters that they have told us multiple times are dead

Glad for folks that are excited that he's coming back, but it doesn't fix their overarching issue

Beware of ZOMBIE YARRICK!

Back to the Christmas boxes, I agree Eldar are a possibility. I am guessing that Marines will not be getting one this year as we have just had a bunch of Chapter-themed Combat Patrols as well as the new Terminator FOMO box. Although when have GW ever missed an opportunity to sell more Marines?

40K is a setting, not a storyline.

Except the parts that GW want to read like a storyline.

Isn't the Terminator Box the LSM Christmas Box?

I swear I saw someone mention that in the thread...

Yeah I saw that too, apparently it information provided to a flgs owner by a GW rep.

The post was in the terminator box thread i believe.

Regarding Yarrick, I would put 1 (yarrick) and 1 (new Trazyn rumours) together to form my own bet on how he comes back (trazyn collected him and let him free for some scheme). If I was a full betting man, thats where my money would fall.

I speculated this but, I honestly have no idea, the only thing that makes me thing it may not be is that GW said in the reveal article,

'The Crux Terminatus Battleforce will be coming to pre-orders soon, with individual releases for the new kits arriving shortly afterwards.'

Is soon Christmas for them?

I think it's akin to the augustus or w/e named box set before, just a solo one and done to showcase new models.

Then they can do another space marine box for christmas. And really, ask yourselves brothers, what would gw do? the answer is more space marines. It's always more space marines.

Bah. These are no good. Do an Imperial Fists box GW. Better yet make all the Christmas boxes Imperial Fists.

Do a IF gravis box with Tor. Do a Termie one with Lysander. Then do several more with new IF characters.

And for pity sake bring back Dorn!

That Tyranid box will be nice for people wanting to start a monster themed army.

A Rhino in the Chaos box. A rhino in the DG combat patrol. Perhaps they are starting to try and clear out stock for a new Rhino down the line. Even if it is a couple of years away they might as well start drawing stock down.

Any word on prices for these boxes? I'm guessing £5/£10 more than last year.

A reminder that GW actually prints new sprues for these boxes rather than taking stock from elsewhere as its simply easier. They'd likely have to print more sprues anyway to make up the amount needed for the battleforces print run if they did that method, so more hassle than it'd be worth.

Thank the Emperor, it is Yarrick; the guy is actually cool! I was really worried it was yet another god-awful loyalist primach returning.

I think there's still whispers that Leman Russ is coming back this edition during the end of edition narrative thingy.

Or start of 11th.
