I think there's still whispers that Leman Russ is coming back this edition during the end of edition narrative thingy.

Or start of 11th.

They say that and what it will be is a new version of the Guard tank!....

With a commisar waving a sword in the turret, possibly Yarrick

Valrak is right. Russ returns next year as part of the end of edition campaign.

I am actually going to speculate that we will not be seeing Russ in late 10th or early 11th. Logan Grimnar is clearly designed as our centrepiece Primarch-equivalent model. He is on a Primarch sized base, has a pair of wolves with him and a tactical rock big enough to give any Primaris Lt lithic-envy. He has all the design elements I would expect of a 40K Russ so I don't expect Russ to follow Gimnar any time soon.

While i agree Logan has many design cues from Russ, it stands to reason to believe that Russ will come back, seeing how GW is intent on bringing back the Primarchs that are not Lore-dead, and whose Chapter already has miniatures.

Also we have 4 daemon primarchs, and only 2 loyalists Primarchs. So we need more loyalists.

Also my money for the 4th Loyalist Primarch would be on the Khan, or Vulcan.

As a firm believer that Russ would land at the end of 10th, forming a new pattern after the Lion. I got to say it looks like its definitely not happening as by this time previously in the edition cycle, we'd have months of Lion rumours (ones that Valrak was called out for if I remember right....till he was proven correct).

We've had no russ rumours other than our own speculation. Either GW security is actually working for this release (doubt it) or more realistically, its just not happening.

I'd happily eat my words if I'm wrong.

Still think Trazyn may have a part to play in things given rumours and his role in the upcoming grand narrative campaign (that link is my speculation).

No we don't! We needed zero of them! They were legendary figures of barely remembered mythic past, their absence symbolising the decaying nature of the current Imperium. Bringing them back destroyed the thematic core of the setting, and was completely unnecessary as there already was a fully supported separate game for inconclusive primarch slap fights.

Oh, and chaos can have theirs. They are already a bunch of losers hanging around in desolate corner of galaxy, so at least having some primarchs whilst the Imperium has none gave them some chance to seem like a proper threat once in a while.

I'm sorry but this ship sailed about 20 years ago.

The Horus Heresy gave us Primarch models and the novels and rulebooks explained everythig in great deal. There are no figures of a mythic past.

I wish it hadn't, but it did.

Yeah, GW taking the myth away isnt a new thing (they were even retconning things way back then as well) and has been happening for 25 years at the very least.

Could see myself grabbing the Tau box set, but I've also been avoiding buying anything since I don't really care for the price increases.

I don't know if Battleforces being more disappointing each year is because of GW or if it's because my collection (backlog) is already extensive and I already own a lot of the models they throw into these things.

There was a rumor for a hot minute that 11ed would feature Drukhari as the big bad, would make sense if they are the end campaign of 11th and the Khan comes back

^ People hated him because he told the truth.

Lion can go back to sleep, thanks.

I'd prefer no primarchs, but I don't have too many complaints with how Guilliman and the Lion have been implemented (the lion deciding to just go back to his old monster slaying schtick helped make it not feel like too much). But when they reintroduce a third primarch things are gonna start to feel crowded. I'm already sick of primarchs dominating the setting, I'm sick of primarch memes, you name it. The more of them come back, the more it's gonna feel tiresomely marvel-esque. Pre-gathering storm, the legendary figures who could show up were chapter masters, inquisitor lords, and the like. I don't think any of them made whatever story they entered **COMPLETELY** revolve around them like primarchs do.

I dunno, find a pattern?

Not really

Those first 3 where all released within a year from each other ( December Magnus, March Guilleman I think, and October or something Mortarion )

Then none for years
Then Angron and Lion within a couple of months time.
Then Fulgrim alone.

That can be translated to a countdown pattern, 3->2->1->0 because they are done now.

another one

2 in 7th edition
1 in 8th edition
2 in 9th edition
1 in 10th edition

so.. 2 in 11th edition, but no more in 10th edition.
Another pattern that contradicts the other patterns.

All I mean with this is that when searching numerical patterns and randomly assigning the parameters ( like you did ) there will always be a pattern that fits whatever you want to say ( I should now, I analyse GW patterns as a hobby it seems at times hahaha XD )

Thank you! I sometimes lean in too much towards skepticism to avoid apophenia and end up missing patterns so it’s quite nice to have confirmation there is no pattern.

I speculated this but, I honestly have no idea, the only thing that makes me thing it may not be is that GW said in the reveal article,

'The Crux Terminatus Battleforce will be coming to pre-orders soon, with individual releases for the new kits arriving shortly afterwards.'

Is soon Christmas for them?

Hi CMV. For clarity, I wasn’t adamant on the other thread that this was the case as suggested in your livestream. This is a cut and paste of the sms I received from the store owner, who sells workshop stuff at a good discount but very much as a sideline and has no knowledge / interest in rumours and no reason to make it up:

‘Had a chat just now with my manager at GW she seems to think these will be a "Christmas Box" ready in November-ish at around £150 each but that's not a firm date or price... I'll keep badgering..’

I too am skeptical and suspect the manager probably doesn’t know much either but we shall see in the next few weeks. I can’t recall in previous years if Xmas sets have been announced in a staggered manner or all at once.
