Well, with the Call to Arms 2025 event over and done with I'm left looking at my pile of shame. I have only been in this hobby a couple of years, but between some surprise promotions giving me too much spending money, a supportive and awesome spouse, a subscription to that combat patrol magazine, and some various gifts from friends and family, I am left with a surprising backlog of minis. Far too many. So, like many others, I will be keeping track of my various works-in-progress here.

Future WIP (No particular order): Chaplain on Bike, Brutalis Dreadnaught, Ministorum Priest, Aeldari Wraithlord, Aeldari Guardians (x10) with Support Platform, IK Moirax (x2), IK Helverin/Warglaive (x6), Aeldari Windriders (x6), Buri Aegnirssen, Arkanyst Evaluator, Cthonian Earthshakers (x6), Ironkin Steeljacks (x6)

That's a striking colour scheme - I like it

Last night I completed the orange trim across all models and some of the red highlights on the eyes. Also, for the first time in my life, I have a camera worth anything and a photobox so I'm playing around with some of the options. Frankly, I think it looks pretty nice. I have a 2-year-old son and a full-time job, so painting is slow. Every little bit of progress counts!

 

I'm trying to think of a name for these guys. I inadvertently used both Vulkan Green and Fire Dragon Orange, not realizing that will just make them look like Salamanders, I want a name that will pay homage to that. Maybe the Ash Wasps? Fire Wasps? Ember Wasps? I like Wasps since these are jump pack guys, I enjoy the idea of them flying around the battlefield stinging the enemy with their hot-shot lasguns.

Nothing wrong with sharing a paint scheme with another faction. My SoB having purple doesn't make them Slaaneah or GSC

Thank you! It's definitely one of the more fun color schemes I've done so far, I love the fire dragon orange but have only used it for small highlights in the past.

Oh I 100% agree with that, and I love the colors and won't change it for anything. It was just a kind of facepalm moment to have the first model finished, thinking it was a cool and unique color scheme, and then realizing it matched one of the more popular Space Marine colors
