Looking forward to seeing the gold range.

I have some oop shining gold that needs replacement. Hopefully they have something close, I used it on my Warhound and need a tonne more for my WIP Reaver. OCD demands they are matchy matchy.

And do they have black? I have a bunch of Necrons I've wanted to paint in shiny metallic black, but I haven't gotten around to.

Metallic Black has always been a hard one to find a good one of IMO

Tamiya has a spray metallic black that's pretty good but they don't make a bottled version of it unfortunately

When the range is finally released I've got my fingers crossed for a good metallic black option. Would revive the Iron Hands project that's been in "developement hell" in my hobby life since the start of the edition.

I do think I'll be buying heavily into this range when it does drop. I've been experimenting with other paint brands beyond GW more this year and vallejo stuff is so far a favourite of what I've tried. More ways to do cool and unusual things would be appreciated. The obvious advantage I can see for my own hobbying is being able to replicate coloured metallic armour schemes I like, but with a method that is easy to replicate on vehicles. At the moment my living situation means an airbrush is impractical and as much as I love contrast type paints, I still struggle to make it look good over large flat surfaces. I'm sure I'd get there with more practise, but but time is limited.

Hope we get more info and a release date soon.

I really like the idea of packaging a matching base, shared and highlight. More color ranges should do that - perfect for beginners and painters valuing speed over sophistication like myself.

The didn't announce a release date yet? :ermm:

There's another video here showing a green and a copper colour. My Admech are green with gunmetal, brass and copper metallics, but I am sorely tempted to add some green metallic embellishments now. That green is lovely, and if they have a slightly darker tone I'll be sold on that. The copper is a very nice tone, too I think. More of an aged copper than a pristine copper, but hopefully there will be some variation in that regard.

Vallejo revealed the range this week end. Here's a direct C&P of the 4 bottle sets info they're selling. There is a colour chart too, but my skills are rubbish:blush:

True Metallic Metal Sets

The 4-color sets offer a compact and organized way to work with each chromatic family.

Each set includes the four tones that compose it – BASE, LIGHT, SHADE and AIRBRUSH – providing a complete and logical solution for painting metals in a specific hue.

Each set is designed within the BSL system structure, ensuring consistent, reproducible results adaptable to any painting style.

There are Silver, Gold, Copper, Ruby Red, Amethyst Purple, Sapphire Blue, Dusken Greem, amd Aged Metal sets. Individual colours don't seem to out yet.

The Ruby Red set definitely has my interest.

You don't need to varnish metallics. Metallics are durable and hard on their own. I recommend adjusting your work flow so metallics are not getting varnished - for me it's the last thing that's get painted after painting and varnishing flat colours.

Greenish gold(s) look like a good peridot alchemy replacement/substitute

That's good. I've found the Scale 75 alchemy paints novel but very hard to use due to streakiness and poor coverage.

They sell a Metal Colour Varnish already. I have a bottle but haven't used it yet, so couldn't say if it's just a standard gloss varnish with a different label, but they claim it doesn't dull the metallics like some other gloss varnishes.

Looks like there is, specifically Obsidian Black:

Some interesting colours for sure will be trying out the hydra set, an out of the bottle alpha legion paint would be great. Ultramarine looks like could work for a base coat for grey knights then layer brighter silvers. Obsidian black will need checking out could be good for next emp champs black sword.

Shame if it's packaged such that you have to buy the 4th airbrush paint, if you don't airbrush.

I use their airbrush metal paints for regular brush work. If they behave in the same way it will just mean you can use them straight from the palette/ bottle without any thinning. Effectively you are getting 2 bottles of the base colour in each set.

Came to ask the same thing - Vallejo having the packs listed on their site but no option to buy or release dates, and can't see any retailers listing them yet (not even for preorder)

Obsidian Black could be great for an Iron Hands scheme. Hope it's not like Scale 75 Black Metal where it's a darker gunmetal and not close to metallic black.
