Karhedron
Well it's been a year and the new Primaris Sanguinary Guard haven't really grown on me. However there are some promising looking 3D prints for wings so I was wondering if anyone had actually used them or seen any photos? All the pictures I can find are just of the print parts and I would like to see what they look like in the flesh (or the resin). Spagunk
Not to derail your 3d print request but I would highly suggest the 40k variant of SG jump packs on Tortuga Bay. I bought a pack an d they look pretty good for primaris replacements. DemonGSides
Heres my Sanguinary Guard, probably at the same painting point as the last time I posted them. They are all GW plastic besides maybe a shoulderpad? But I combined a lot of the FB kit with the new Primaris kit. I also have this captain with the Greytide winged packs. I think they're the best 3rd party wings but idk if I like them for SG; they've got a more Chaplain/Cap feel. Biggest issue is they have no insert to actually attach them to the official kit which is an issue if you want to swap between the two (for official events, for example) but nothing magnets couldnt resolve if youre willing to hack holes in this one for magnets to go. Orange Knight
Those wings look great. Are they a copy of the wings and jump packs that came with the original kit? I have a friend who's looking to add wings to his Sanguinary Guard, but he plays often at GW venues and doesn't want to have any obvious 3rd party bits. The ones in my photos are just the firstborn wings glued onto the Primaris backpacks. My copies are fully GW plastic. Blindhamster
The ones in mine are tortuga bay and the pack itself is very much like the sanguinors whilst the wings are like the original ones Except the wings attach to the backpack with ball joints, which is cool! Karhedron
Those Tortuga bay ones do look nice. Slight annoying that they sell them in 5s and I will probably want 6. Cleon
How does the core jump pack scale against the old SG pack - I've always been a bit nervous with Tortuga that it's not clear which bits are scaled to fit GW and which are scaled for larger. Blindhamster
I don’t think I have any to hand, but the tortuga sanguinary guard and these packs are scaled to primaris so it’s probably a bit larger Karhedron 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386823-sanguinary-guard-upgrades/#findComment-6135074 Share on other sites

The tortuga bay ones are only slightly larger by a millimeter or two in places. That said, they seem fine on a primaris. Cleon
My issue is I don't like the Angels Tears sculpts very much, so I was looking at kit bashing some with the tortuga bay packs and shoulders, but if they are larger they won't be great on the smaller HH sculpts. Spagunk
They're not significantly larger. For instance the little side jets are about 1mm different or the intake is 1mm taller. It hardly noticeable imo. The difference being that the wings fit onto the pack instead of the model's shoulders which helps with clearance for the newer SG models.
