Possibly because pretty much everything in the Kreiger box is new I think. The Slaaneshi one is all less than a year old too, I wonder what the total discount is like on that.

It’s an interesting one. I’ve got the tyranid half of the ultimate starter (aka a combat patrol). The big monster set might complement that well if I wanted an army. Alternatively though, I could get the tyranid half of leviathan to still have a neurotitan and screamer killer, plus loads more little guys. 
 

That’s the better choice, clearly. And better yet is to do neither, as I don’t actually play 40K.

The other thing to consider with the value of the boxes is the age of the sculpts. The Tau set has a lot of fairly old models in there which have been available for some time, in other boxes and can often be picked up second hand. The Emperor's children in contrast are all new and shiny and this is largely the first opportunity to pick them up cheaply after the launch box.

The bigger issue is that the tau models are fairly expensive compared to many others. Crisis suits are an £€$ outlier compared to their peers generally.

My FLGS put up a video today, saying that they've gotten the Battleforces, and will be selling them with a 20% discount for £124. Doing the maths, that's £155 RRP in the UK.

 

They also said that they got some of the number they requested, but at least enough that they will be selling them online, rather than just in-store only like what happened with the Kill Team: Dead Silence box last week. So hopefully, it's not too difficult for people to get a battleforce they're looking for.

 

I have decided to try and get the Krieg battleforce, but won't be too upset if I'm unable to get it.

My FLGS is doing a 15% discount and a pre-pre-order so I put myself down for the Votann box as I can't get to my phone when pre-orders go live at 10am in the UK.  Just hope they get the allocation or I'll be disappointed (my wallet wouldn't mind too much though).

Bought the EC battleforce even though I don't need it because after roughly a decade of constant begging for EC models, I feel obligated to buy anything they release

My FLGS got one of some, and 0 of others. So they sold out in minutes. And by the time I had browsed around all others were sold out too.

Huh over here several stores still have plenty stock while others got sold out before they even hit the webstore. Weird disparity.

Several stores seem to be selling them at RRP which diminishes the value. Unless you want every unit in the box, you are not saving much over the usual RRP-20% for buying the individual units.

Poking around GW's different regions and the FLGS I know in a few different places? This has been such a weird release.

 

Normal discount in some places, none in others and some things sold out instantly while others have a weirdly long-lived stock.

 

I am genuinely perplexed at just how badly to LoV box did in my regions at least, its usually the last to go and is around still even on GW's site. I sort of figured the lack if a named character and their now fairly ample range would help them out.

 

EC box isn't doing great either but thats not a surprise, can't imagine that many people did what I did and waited for Fulgrim to be in a bundle. And he's honestly the draw. Kinda nice to for once have an army's beneath the scalper's notice lol.

It is a weird collection of units, which probably has something to do with people not wanting to pick it all up in one box. Seems like a bunch of stuff that would individually fit with different army themes, but not all together.

Noticed this on the site for the UK shop I usually buy from as they have a shop near me. Pointless buying it from rather than GW if it's it's full price. Not sure why they'd do that. 

 

Sort of considering the Leagues of Votann box as I have enough warriors, pioneers, 3 units of cthonians, a Yaegir and a Hekaton, but missing much else. But with the extra cthonians I don't really need i'm not sure.

Was thinking of grabbing the Tau box, but I don't need another Farsight and I'm done collecting the old Crisis Suits since I think they look pretty underwhelming. 

Will probably change my tune if I see it at my LGS. My monkey brain activates if I see these things in person.

Grabbed the EC box - nothing I want to add to my army just yet, but with rules changes on units over editions I can see all of it being playable.  Plus, it meant I essentially bought 2 units that I was somewhat interested in (the noise marines, bringing me to 3 squads, and Fulgrim) plus 6 flawless blades essentially for free.  No current plans to use the 12 flawless blades I now have (from this and the combat patrol), but they might be good some edition.

The Battleforce + army box + CP is a pretty solid force.

 

As for flawless blades, they're immense. I've run them out of land Raiders in rapid evisceration and they're brilliant. The extra attack each from the update makes them even better too. Don't write them off :)
