Hi all.

Right. In an odd way I'm not a newbie, since I played 40k as Dark Angels back in the 80s and early 90s. However, I stopped wargaming about then, and have only recently restarted, largely because my son started! (Tau and now Death Guard). I decided to start up Black Templars (I'm a historian and author by trade, and the military monastic orders are one of my specialities.) I have assembled a 2k point army now. I've only fielded it partially, twice, not in it's new final state. Both times were still at 1k, first against son's Tau, and then against a friend's World Eaters, and they ended in a loss and a draw. I'm hoping I've put together an effective force now. Let me know what you think, where I may have messed up, if there are any hints as to how to best use these forces, etc...? Here's what I have...

Four fast-delivery melee squads:

Land Raider, carrying a squad of 5 terminators and the Emperor's Champion

Razorback carrying 5 Sword Brethren and High Marshall Helbrecht

Primaris Impulsor carrying 5 Sword Brethren and Chaplain Grimaldus

Rhino carrying 10 man crusader squard

Heavy fire support team:

Predator Annihilator

Ballistus Dreadnought

Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought

Thunderfire cannon (Legends for modern use)

Welcome!  I'm glad you could find an army that scratches your particular itch!  And its not uncommon to have folks find their way back to 40K after a break, though yours is longer than most.    Anyway, I'm happy you've found your way to right place for advice on your list.
