I swear, every single time I sign up for some kind of challenge, life jumps up and smacks me. Definitely not going to make the deadline. :(

Hardwired...to self-destruct!

The Hlaves (Human Slaves) PXL_20251224_085726963.PORTRAIT.thumb.jpg.0ecb52f2ca0202762eb8be69ff3feb33.jpg

The captives ere subject to horrific surgery, their exposed crania violated with dirty wiring and their limbs now operating under someone else's control.

With weapons glued to their hand and fingers wrapped around triggers, they rush towards their own kind no matter the fire directed towards them.

As they reach their former comrades, unable to voice the warnings they scream in their heads, fingers are released from dead man switches....

Who could be behind such atrocities? Such fiendish skullsduggery? The answer will require more kitbashing. Perhaps @Valkia the Bloody would run this challenge again in 2026?

Thanks to our hosts for running this and to everyone who has taken part. I had a blast putting these minis together (the idea had been swilling around for a while, they are part of a homebrew Kill Team), painting them and seeing all the other creations take shape in this thread.

Thanks for taking part and making this an interesting challange.

I try to remember and geh myself organized for running the challenge again next year.

Happy Christmas to everyone!

It's amazing how time blows by...

Today: How much more time do we have?

I can't type today...

I've left it late (I always forget how long oils take to dry!) but I've got to a point where I can call my second entry done: the Chromnax Pattern Basilisk Tank Destroyer is finished. It's been a real treat following this thread with everyone's entries, merry Christmas all!

Aaand done.

Wow, that demon construct looks absolutely stunning!

Great conversion that comes together very well.

Yeesh. Is it too late to unenter my model? I can't compete with that!

We grow with our challenges....

joke aside, this event is for having fun, giving your best and show everyone your creativity.

If any of these fit, keep at it- then you are nearly there!

I should of thought about it a couple of days ago,  but I completed a Master of Possessions (or Infernal Master of Thousand Sons) for the Boxing Day challenge. Could I of entered it here? It's already built and painted, so no big deal if I cant

Totally fine by me.

The model was created during the appointed time, just share it with us here (I like the creativity of it, by the way, the little demon with the gun looks like he is having fun).

@Valkia the Bloody Thanks! I cut his arm at the elbow and used a Crypt Guard arm with a Cawdor pistol. I was gonna give him a CSM head, but I found some old Pink Horror bodies I used for the tentacles and got a bit crazy with it

Right!

So we are nearing the completion of the event!

If I count correctly, we have so far 13 completed entries.

Please have a look at the very first post of this thread- I tried to keep up to date with completions, but if I have missed any of you, please let me know!

About the deadline of the event-

since I am from Germany, my New Years Day will be in advance of many of the members on the American continents.

To enable a few more last minute completions, let us just be lenient and last minute completions will also be allowed for New Years day.

And let us be honest- I will sleep in for New Years Day anyways (no work), so will not check for any late / early morning completions.

I hope this will be fine with everyone.

When all completions are in, there will be a poll for the best entries.

This will be set up in the upcoming days in the new year.

Everyone who completed at least one entry will have the honor of wearing a participation patch.

Since this was a fun event, I am planning on doing this again in 2026.

Next time, we might start earlier in the year and have a longer running time.

I still have a box with an Imperial Knight here (bought more than 5 years ago) and I already have plans to "Night-Lord-ify" the knight with bat swarms, lots of skulls and gore- so doing this event again will help motivate me to finally get the project going.

So everyone who did not finish this year will have another chance next year.

I hope you all had fun and I wish you all a Happy New Year!

you have me down for a Kytan but not marked it as complete. Cheers for running the event too. I really like converting so will be keen to participate in the next one.

Thank you for pointing that out!

I have now marked it as completed. Really great work!

So this brings the completions up to 14 entries.

Thanks for running this @Valkia the Bloody, it has been such a fun challenge and great to see such creativity from all the participants.

Happy New Year to all and here's to more converting and painting in 2026!

I only participated this year on accident (I was gonna get the Kroot event model for Boxing Day, but it sold out), but I will definitely plan to participate next year, I loved all the great work here.

Hello everyone, it's been great watching your work progress on your creative miniatures.

I have completed Zorzi, Bezerker relaxing.

Sadly, there was a scuffle between 2 cats on my painting table. As a result, poor Zorzi took a tumble to the floor and Zorzi's original tea mug was lost to the carpet. I had to assemble and paint an ad hoc mug that is not as nice.

And I might sometimes blue tac Zorzi onto my Defiler, Blood Golem, when I use it

Perhaps Zorzi likes to read Edgar Allen Poe stories aloud to the daemon engine while he sips his cup of tea.

Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New Year to everybody (as applicable in the last/next few hours) and nice work on all your conversion, was realy interesting to see.

Thank you Valkia the Bloody for running the event and I for one would be up for joining another one.

Heavy weapon team conversion complete, and I even managed to paint the two additional teams (HB and AC).

Well, done mine just in time local time (but not for Germany), so thank you for the extension @Valkia the Bloody.

Anyway, they aren't based, but I plan to do that tomorrow.  If its alright with Valkia, I'll swap in that picture once the bases have dried - if not, that's fine too.

They are now based, and pics have been swapped - thanks Valkia.

Here are my tormentors:

That is fine by me!

EDIT- so it looks as if we got 17 completions until now.

Great work everyone!
