I don't think I explained myself well. Imagine the Kasrkin have just rappeled out of the bird.

 

On the ground are some smoke bombs with red flares at their heart. Covers their ingress and lights up red at the same time.

Tell you what, if I cannot get this Valk's portside wing to set into place, you may well see it fly...straight out the nearest window. Cool model? Yes. Damned frustrating? Also, yes.

I should have this completed by this afternoon. Sitting here with it and a paintbrush. It quite took me by surprise how much longer it would take when considering the wiring and LEDs. Roof is still loosely fitted and, with a little filing, it will remain that way, as removing the roof gives me full access to the wiring.

 

Still to do: going to make a cowling for the engines and shape their intake and nozzles in the flavour of the F-22 and F-35, to give it a pseudo-stealth appearance. But, let's be honest, it still looks like a flying brick!

 

Finally, not sure if I will do it today, but I am going to freehand some WWII-style shark teeth on the nose.

You're referring to the cockpit? That's the last thing that goes on, quite literally. To finish off the models, I spray them with a matte varnish. Unfortunately, when it comes to transparent sections, the  varnish fogs them up, so that's the very last stage of assembling them. 

 

With this one, aside from the cockpit, I still have to do the highlighting, and so on. After that, I add any transfers to it, its designation as LV 223 (named after the moon in the film Prometheus, for example. I'll them weather is so the transfers blend in to the rest of the model, rather than sticking out like a sore thumb.

Dug up another WIP...for the last three years! I've been think8ng of sending it to my brother, as he is a bit of a Nurgling. He collects Death Guard and I barely touch it.

I've tinkering with a project, the Night Rovfugl, I simply must complete before the holidays are out.

 

There's not a lot to see externally, other than the shark teeth, in the style of WWII fighters, but I hope these angles give you an idea as to what I am looking to achieve. 

Sorry for potato cam. DSLR not charged at the moment. I'll do some decent pics once she's completed.

Cheers! I am back from family visits over the holidays and return to work on 5th Jan, so have a bit of time to get it done this week.

Made a brief start this evening on the engine cowlings for the Night Rovfugl. Going to let everything dry then crack on tomorrow. Once done, I'll get the proper camera out for some better shots.

Right. Getting back in the saddle again. Here's a selection of my Brood Brother Cult, the Sunward Watch, so far. Only things I seem to be missing are five members of the Kill Team. But, we know how to deal with those who go AWOL in the Cult...

 

Things are looking better and I've got some IG in front of me to kitbash into Brood Brothers, so that'll get me in the swing of things before I pick up the paintbrush.

 

Apologies for the setting - my painting desk is simply not large enough to hold this lot! And this was in the dining room, so lighting is not great.

I also dug out this guy, an old Inquisitor for my fledgling Imperial Agents force with a psycannon and force sword. 

 

I've place his base on top of the correctly-sized one for the modern game which helps him negate being a tiny termie but also puts him on the appropriate base. 

 

Not figured out how I am going to paint him, yet, but suggestions welcome.

Thank you. Pic didn't come out too well, but, as I work on him, I'll post more, clearer pics. Just tinkering with how I am going to paint him at the moment.
