Matcap86
Some absolutely bonkers level of painting on display this year. Also well done on the Warcom team for getting this up minutes after the award show. https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/n4tadgwz/golden-demon-2025-winners-at-spiel-essen-revealed/ Scribe, Interrogator Stobz, Lord Marshal and 7 others 5 5 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387000-golden-demon-winners-2025/ Share on other sites
darkhorse0607
One of the best years I can recall seeing Also the photographers look to have stepped their game up as well, for some past Demons there has been some iffy choices but all of these were well photographed Dr. Clock, 01RTB01, Maschinenpriester and 2 others 5 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387000-golden-demon-winners-2025/#findComment-6138634 Share on other sites
Halandaar
Has to be one of the most impressive years I can remember, amazing work across pretty much every category! Scribe
WOW. Obviously there have been amazing entries year after year for decades, but that is a seriously impressive showing near across the board there. Wow. Evil Eye
Some absolutely beautiful painting on display. The patterns on the robes for that Necromunda entry in particular are astonishing. GSCUprising
The standard of painting is one I can only dream of. While I love the 40K miniatures, those AoS ones just knocked it right out of the park. sitnam and Firedrake Cordova 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387000-golden-demon-winners-2025/#findComment-6138656 Share on other sites
Orange Knight
Absolutely spectacular. Seeing the progression from when Golden Demon started to now is also pretty interesting. Miniature painting has become a legitimate art. 01RTB01
Genuinely outstanding winners. It's insane how the standard keeps amping up each year. The Youngblood entries are bonkers good. They'd have won any competition back in the 90s. Hats off to them. sitnam, Redrandy93 and Firedrake Cordova 1 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387000-golden-demon-winners-2025/#findComment-6138664 Share on other sites

DemonGSides
The youngbloods are legitimately nuts for what we assume are 'newer' painters. Just insane what kind of work those kids are going to be capable of in the future if they stick with it. The entire AoS singles category is absolutely nuts, and the slayer sword was well appointed this year. Great line-up overall! hauteclere, Matcap86 and Firedrake Cordova 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387000-golden-demon-winners-2025/#findComment-6138761 Share on other sites
Laurence
Everything looks too shiny, to my eye. It's undoubtedly skilful work, but it all looks like it's covered in foil. It's undoubtedly skilful work, but it all looks like it's covered in foil. Think that's in part due to the way they're photographed. They usually seem to overexpose quite a bit. I saw the AOS bronze unit at SMC, here's a basic phone shot which shows colours are a bit more muted. On heavy NNM overexposing makes stuff look very shiny. Edit: Not sure why the image turned all blurry after uploading, think I fixed it as good as it's gonna get. Astartes Consul
It’s both inspiring and humbling to see a single face in a squad entry have more technique and skill on display than any entire unit I’ve ever painted Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387000-golden-demon-winners-2025/#findComment-6138921 Share on other sites

Brother Cambrius
Comparing the level of detail involved and techniques compared to when I first attended a Games Day in 2008 is utterly incredible to see. The change in paints and tools have definitely been a factor, but it really is a whole new world of skill compared to even 10 years ago! The Diorama with the Krieg and Sororitas was a great one to display a snapshot in time of contrast from what we'd expect between those two. Xenith
Nice enough stuff - I think Hendarion was robbed in the squad entry - the winner baely had highlights, but I think previousnyearshave generally seen more abitious and interesting entries. To me, Hendarion's entry is everything I dislike about the Golden Demon 'style' we've seen the last few years more and more - just everything over highlighted to death, where it takes your eye from what’s actually interesting. The volumetric style of thew SW squad just seems so much less jarring. I'm also a much bigger fan of the composition than the level of painting and much prefer the squad stuff and duels as a result Laurence 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387000-golden-demon-winners-2025/#findComment-6142136 Share on other sites
