Hey folks I bought the kill team tombworld set and really enjoyed building the deathwatch killteam. With so much redundant parts left over I managed to make a whole second kill team using regular marine bodies. However, the main fun is in customising the chapters and although it provides a pretty good spread of chapters, it could always be more.

How do you customise your deathwatch even more, or source varied chapter shoulder pads? I've seen some third party companies selling some but always in batches of 10. If only you could get a mix of 10 random chapters or something

Wow some great examples there! I really wish it was easier to pick up a mix of random chapter pads without buying 10 of each!

The old Deathwatch Veterans box had alot of good bossed pads, but if you have multiples I'd suggest just painting seconds and even thirds in different schemes and just making up a name or finding a chapter with a similar heraldic charge but different colours.

Once I ran out of bossed pads I just started painting the pads, treating them as little mini-projects in their own right, like this OG:

Then I also did some that are just vanguard veteran pads that I just pretend are the heraldry of a whole chapter... Like the 'Laurel Guardians', or 'Auric Aquilons'.

Then also remember you can always just throw in a Blackshield every 5 guys or so ; )

You can also find 3d printed insignia from various online vendors like Pop Goes the Monkey, who even calls his Deathwatch set 'Deathwatch': https://popgoesthemonkey.com/products/deathwatch-set-1-shoulder-insignia-pack?_pos=1&_psq=deathwatch&_ss=e&_v=1.0

Don't let the lack of right pad hold you back is my advice... If you can just get all the left ones sorted you can figure out the right ones as you go.

Cheers,
