Orange Knight
The Emperor's children range was released this year, wasn't it? I think it's best to go into these shows with no expectations. To do otherwise is to invite the disappointment. I went into this show having had everyone and their mother regaling us about yet another wave of Ultramarines on the way and I guess an idealist part of me had the thought that it might just be more Generic Marines in an Ultramarines colourscheme. But no, it's Titus 2 and his Backup Dancers. darkhorse0607
Really torn on the Ultramarines stuff On one hand, trailer good. I hated the old Titus model, so a new one is good On the other They change the captain for the second more than I change paints and honestly, I really dont love the idea of Titus becoming the face of the Ultramarines instead of a more legacy character. Also as much as I love Ultramarines, the second command squad didn't need to exist, would have much rather had Tyrannic War Veterans, Cassius or Telion Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387009-world-championships-of-warhammer-preview/page/12/#findComment-6140951 Share on other sites

Iirc there was no 11th company, he was just 11th captain. Also all the other tetrarchs still hold their original offices, though admittedly in his case it might've just been a holdover to get him to the tetrarchy. Either way, our boy acheran has no more people to spare it seems. Borbarad
Nice show, love that they throw a bone to the armies without a major release wave with a few characters. Miniatures wise, Fantasy / AoS again impressed me more. Fells like they have much more creative freedom to than 40k designers. Nova-V
Well I'm glad I didn't stay up for that! Yet another character for the Ultramarines who have characters coming out of their ears and just had a decent release wave is a kick in the teeth for many other factions. So many factions have lost options in 10th or have ranges that don't yet cover all the unit roles. Agents need a generic Inquisitor so let's put design work into human hangers on for Marines. Three of the Chaos monogod factions a barely half a range but Ultramarines could do with another character? Only upside 40K wise was the Xenos models which are fantastic across the board. A kinda weird fill in reveal for Necromunda but as always the models themselves were great. That squats range seems to be getting to a point you could proxy it for Votaan which would be great to see as it's aesthetic is spot on. I'm amazed 30K wasn't Talons they have been teasing it since the release of 3rd and now it looks like they won't make it this year or even early next. Smacks of some production issues and shuffling. Burni
What’s left from before this preview that’s been announced but not released? I don’t think it’s much if anything is it? So could start seeing release announcements from this show as soon as tomorrow maybe? Wonder what’ll be first out of the gate (selfishly I’m hoping the LI stuff!) Dark Shepherd
It felt like one of the better sets of reveals to me as it was billed as Darkwater plus the rest, so didnt feel like an underwhelming amount of 30 and 40k Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387009-world-championships-of-warhammer-preview/page/12/#findComment-6141143 Share on other sites
Crimson Longinus
I can't quite gauge how large the new Tau suits are. Nevertheless, they look very nice. I just wish they had done a crisis suit update in this style. Those old ugly suits are the weak point of the army, and they're rather central so you really cannot just no take them. And overall, I am a bit bummed by the recent hyperfocus on special characters. Like the Titus's command squad with the human advisors is objectively super cool, but frankly I'd much rather have generic human advisors that could be use in any marine army, instead of just in this specific chapter with this specific character. Same with the squat berserker character, I'd rather have it as a generic character with some options. It relates to how customisation and personalisation seems to be vanishing from the game. It is no longer "your dudes" it is "the canonical GW dudes in their canonical configuration with locked wargear."
