Spotted on discord by someone who allegedly stumbled upon it out in the real world.

The "500 Worlds" branding makes me think this might be the general area for the end of edition campaign, since some of the rumoured characters are either frequently in and around Ultramar, like Huron, or have no issues going there on a whim like Yriel and Trazyn. Wasn't there also a rumour about a redone Guilliman?

Didn’t Valrak say he heard the Guilliman rumours weren’t true?

I’d imagine if the narrative campaign is 500 Worlds, then the UM were meant to be apart of that release, but the leak bumped them up. Probably why certain kits are limited stock at the moment with the FLGS’s. They’re definitely cranking out the new Bloodbowl and probably 11th at this point, so might have meant limited capacity to pump out all of the UM’s that got moved up?

I’d guess this box goes with the rumoured update to Trazyn.

Having the end of edition narrative look at a bunch of flashpoints around the 500 worlds would be quite fun, and new discount boxes like the boarding patrols last edition is always nice to see.

Can't put up the link now, but shadowhunts article talked about the harbinger, a renegade psyker turned doomsday prophet that is gathering a following on one ( or more ?) Worlds of ultramar. I wonder if this might be a token new character ( so far there always has been at least 1 in any end of edition campaign )

.. if he is mortal as implied but tied to night lords ( because murder wings paintjob) this could even be one of the older unsolved rumor engines I ( and probably everyone else ) expects to be vampires related.

Could be more of an introduction to the Maiden Worlds ahead of the introduction of Exodites...

There are three named maiden worlds in the ultima segmentum, and while one is in the Octarius sector, a good chunk further than the 500 worlds, the other two are potential candidates to plonk into this overarching plot; Iathglas which appeared as recent as the last Ynnari book where they got their entire plotline stopped dead in its tracks, and Lilarsus, which is situated in the eastern fringe and was destroyed* by the Tau after which Iyanden retaliated.

*Not quite sure what destroyed means in that context, could be anything from bombarded, to glassed, scoured, to outright exploded.

I find the use of the word "Batallion" interesting. It basically doesn't need to be there in any capacity unless it has some game/rules/marketing relevance.

This might be similar to what happened with spearhead boxes, which used to be called vanguard sets previously.

I wonder if 11ths combat patrol is "battalions" and aimed around bigger boxes?

Does this look really fake to anyone else?

Yeah, it does seem like an easy thing to fake - slap a 'logo' on an existing picture of a Combat Patrol box :unsure:

I guess we'll find out next weekend, I expect if this is the end of edition campaign then it'll get announced as part of the reveal show.

Right you are.

On the industrial world of Garranox on the fringe of Ultramar, a hitherto undiscovered tomb complex of night-black stone sparks deadly unrest when work crews experience nightmares and portents of death. They are spurred by the doomsaying of a rogue psyker-turned-prophet known only as the Harbinger.

Is it an existing Necron combat patrol? Or is that photo new?

They won't announce 8 months of content at a November reveal show.

It is not an existing box.

Yeah but if they reveal ‘500 Worlds’ as a thing it will lend veracity to this, even if this isn’t one of the reveals.

Who said that they would? :biggrin: Based on the campaign books that closed the last few editions, these were released over a 5-6 month period before the next edition launch, with the first released in/around January. Going on that, it should be the series that's announced, with the first book revealed.

It's not an existing box though, unit combination is significantly different from the current Combat Patrol, the old Combat Patrol and the 9th Ed Boarding Patrol.

It would also contradict the potential Armageddon focus that's being penned in.

It's also making an assumption it's a series rather than a selection of stand alone entries.

This is a box I'd be tempted to buy two of even though I've told myself my Necrons are "finished being collected". Only thing weird to me is the Hexmark leading the group instead of a Skorpekh or (new) Lokhust Lord, but that has more to do with my understanding of the lore. I didn't even realize the pistol-slinging nutjob could be a Warlord.
