MarqFJA87
I have been slowly working on a homebrew Astra Militarum regiment concept - I wouldn't really call it a draft, more like notes that I've written when time allowed and my muse was inspiring me. However, I'm not sure where would be the appropriate place to present it for discussion; Works In Progress seemed like the most logical choice, but the few threads I've checked made me hesitant due to how much more extensive their development are. Am I overthinking it? On a side note, I'm surprised there's no thread for asking questions that clearly would only require about 1-2 replies on average to give an answer to, like mine almost certainly is. apologist
In background terms, then the Imperial Guard* subforum seems most appropriate for discussion. If you're intending to develop things, then I'd suggest setting it up as a blog. * Fine, Astra Militarum Lysimachus 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387026-i-have-a-rough-concept-for-a-homebrew-where-do-i-take-it/#findComment-6139354 Share on other sites
Lysimachus
Also, we have the Liber a subforum for the creation of background for DIY Chapters, Regiments, Orders, Craftworlds, etc, etc! sitnam and apologist 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387026-i-have-a-rough-concept-for-a-homebrew-where-do-i-take-it/#findComment-6139362 Share on other sites
Brother Tyler
Both of the options presented above are valid. Another option is to create a blog (in the Blogs feature using the Imperium > Astra Militarum and Imperial Army category). You can then create outreach/update topics in both the + ASTRA MILITARUM + and + THE LIBER + forums for entries. These outreach/update topics would notify other members of progress/information about your homebrew, pulling them into the blog so they can see your content and provide comments (i.e., engage in discussion with you). If your homebrew includes assembled/painted models, you could also create outreach/update topics in the + WORKS IN PROGRESS + and + HALL OF HONOUR + forums. I did take a look at that, but the threads I've sampled look to be far more fleshed out than I could hope to achieve any time soon. Should I just assume that it's not representative of what's actually "acceptable" there? 6 hours ago, Brother Tyler said: Both of the options presented above are valid. I might just do that. Thanks. The purpose of the Liber really covers the whole range, from discussing an initial idea right through to polishing grammar for a finished article (potentially published in the Librarium Articles), but it's totally up to the author how far you want to take it? So, if you just want to post a few sentences with a idea and get people to brainstorm with you, that's absolutely fine! Brother Tyler
It is perfectly acceptable to discuss DIYs in the various forums (e.g., Astra Military, Adeptus Astartes, Orks, Aeldari, etc.). After all, the participants in those forums have a collective understanding of the (sub)factions that can prove very helpful to DIY developers. MarqFJA87
I see. I was basing my assumptions on how such structural separation is typically implemented in the various forums I've been in over the past two decades. A site map that clarifies this flexibility would be useful in helping future newbies know beforehand it's not as restrictive as they may imagine. On a side note, I just realized that notifications for my content and replies to it are separate from general followed notifications in the settings, explaining why I haven't been receiving email notifications from this forum like I was expecting.
