Brother Tyler
I did something a little different this month. The themed challenges have been a bust, and there weren't any new submissions this month, so I picked one from among the existing submissions. We've had several members whose banners have been featured two or more times, so I chose a banner submitted by someone whose banners haven't been selected prior to this. Congratulations to @Rusted Boltgun for his image: Since @Rusted Boltgun doesn't have a blog in the Blogs feature, clicking on the banner image will take you to a WIP blog. apologist, Rusted Boltgun, Brother Casman and 2 others 4 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387039-banner-of-the-month-november/ Share on other sites
Lathe Biosas
I like the idea of giving some older submissions a chance to shine. Brother Casman
I like the banner @Rusted Boltgun! The hand-drawn feel really adds to the overall atmosphere of 40k; I've often thought there should be more in-universe artworks in different styles. Well done! Rusted Boltgun
Tha k you for considering my banner worthy, @Brother Tyler. It has been quite surreal to log on to B&C and see it at the top! I'm especially honoured to be in the company of the Fraters who have had their banners on display, they are of a quality level far above my rushed effort (though, let's face it - it does fairly reflect my mini painting standard and approach to nearly every B&C challenge). I'm glad you like the banner @Brother Casman, it was a lot of fun to create something way outside my comfort zone and try something new. More than anything, it was the opportunity to participate in something - my 40k experience is limited to games with Boltgun Jr and posting on this forum. The challenges here are fantastic and I've had so much fun with the Legio mini-me, Knives in The Void / Shadows and Call to Arms as well as the current Jokaero Challenge. @Brother Tyler do you think a longer timescale for the banner submissions help to garner entries? Say, two to three months? I appreciate this is a higher workload for the mod looking after (shuffles feet, looks to the floor) it but some repeated categories might ease the burden? Such as renewal in Spring, fall in, well, Fall, Celebration in Winter? Brother Tyler
Yes, we could allow for more advanced notice of themes. I'm not sure that it's so much a workload increase as it is determining themes with sufficient time (which really only matters when we try to align themes with product releases). Of course, some cases might not be an issue as allowing for more time from the time a product hits the street might allow more members to get models painted up.
