JJD
I haven't painted since we moved house about 5 years ago. My 9 year old loves crafting and my 12 year old loves art. I have a set of indomitus Necrons and thought they would be a good place to start with a simple dry pushed metallic scheme. I was going to use one of my technical paints to do a red or green Glow in the eyes and guns. My daughter is adamant she wants a pink Glow can anyone recommend a pink technical paint I can use I have also released my eye sight is not what it was and I can see the tiny details like the eyes to paint anymore so I also need recommendations for a magnifying light Edited November 2 by JJD Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387049-weapon-glow/ Share on other sites
Firedrake Cordova
I use an Optivisor with 1.75x lens, and sort the lighting out separately (Ikea desk lamp with daylight LED bulb). There are knock-offs on Amazon that come with a full set of glass lenses which seem to be good optically, but aren't as comfortable. Don't know if that's any help or not Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387049-weapon-glow/#findComment-6139899 Share on other sites
Volgon
For the glow perhaps look into fluorescent paints? I've heard Golden High Flow fluorescents are quite vibrant and they have a pink. Pro Acryl also has a fluorescent pink. Fluorescents are weak enough coverage wise that they kind of work like contrast paints: a neutral or bright undercoat and then fluorescent on top. Lord Marshal
Army Painter has Power Node Glow which is a magenta-borderline-pink fluorescent? Vallejo also have Game Colour Flou Magenta. Grotsmasha
Necrons eyes are very recessed, paint the whole lot in pink, wash with thinned caragurg crimson, like edge highlighting, catch the eye and surround with base pink to get the glow look. For magnification, I use 3.5x reading glasses for really close details like eyes, and 2x for normal work. apologist, Firedrake Cordova and Valkia the Bloody 2 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387049-weapon-glow/#findComment-6140010 Share on other sites
