Just want to preface this by saying I have nothing against the current edition of Kill Team or those who play it! I just prefer Kill Team 2018 for the flexibility in list building and that it just felt like "small" Warhammer 40,000 and not an entirely seperate game.

6 months ago I posted on Reddit about a game of KT2018 I played with my wife, using hybrid 10th Ed. rules. Basically, we just used 10th Ed datasheets and a couple of other (what I thought) were quality of life changes.

There seemed to be a bit of interest in the rules we used so I thought I should write them down. So I have done!

Here is a link to a PDF that is what I'm calling a Kill Team 2018 10th Ed Patch.

There is more to come on this, including indexes etc. In fact, I'm writing ut a full Adeptus Astartes mini codex for this - and will then do Heretic Astartes and Aeldari.

In the mean time, you can play the patch using 10th Ed. rules (I'm pretty confident I've not left any holes). Simply divide points cost by model counts to get model costs. Then, faction rules apply, Oath of Moment etc and unit abilities apply too.

I would love to get some feeback on this.

Thanks!

I much prefer KT18 also. It was such an accessable game for new and casual players. It really prompted people to hobby with models they didn't want to invest in a whole army for but thought were pretty cool. The 'I can play with the models I like', element has given way to 'I can play with the specific models GW has decided I can use'. I would definitely like to see datasheets for models released after 2018 made for use in KT18.

My sentiment exactly, Craig. I loved the flexibility the rules offered, but I'm not blind to the exploits that were present in list building. Hence why I have introduced the concept of "Operative" a Kill Team role not present in 2018's core rules. This concept aims to avoid havigng a Kill Team of all Space Marine Sergeants for example, or whatever lets people min/mx the special weapon options. I intend to release an index for the factions I know the most about and would appreciate help with the others!
