dropping this here ( from Boole; darkwater, ultramarine and nurgle rumor source that today came true )

( its all framed as fantasy things.. but its obviously 40k rumors.)

I think 500 worlds is just this bookset. And at least 3 other booksets coming (Armageddon with Yarrick ? but yarrick isnt prophesized to return afaik, Eye of Terror with Perturabo/iron warriors or maybe just darkmech, Maelstrom with Prince Yriel, but probably Huron is the enemy there.)

Last part seems to be about skaven.. but, Venom, shurikens (weapons) and shades ( Yvraine is called the daughter of shades ) do combine in one 40k thing; Ynnari

So its probably skaven  (maybe drukhari and boole doesnt know that they do not use shuriken weapons, its more likely.)

There's a Clan Eshin Skaven range that's also been rumoured, so I'm almost certain that last bit is referring them rather than anything 40K, and this is just about the new rumours (in addition to the Cities of Sigmar cog fortress/Combined Dwarfs book).

I could not have predicted this squad and I'm glad I couldn't because it is a very pleasant surprise!

The models themselves are fantastic. Captain Titus is a vast improvement over the LT version and I love Gadriel with the sculpted banner. Metaurus is brilliant too, though I wish he had his axe (I'm also glad my kitbash homage to him is a) unpainted and b) helmeted so I can paint him diffrently from the 'official' version). Shame Chiron is left out but fingers crossed for a commemorative edition sergeant or LT version in the future.

The mortal command squad members are brilliant. Really characterful models. I'm crossing my fingers that the inclusion of the Ultramar Auxilia Legate in the squad means there is a combined Astartes/Astra Militarum detachment in the campaign rules. I have a load of unpainted Cadians which were bought to make an Ultramar Auxilia force. I then decided to just paint them as Cadians, but I think I'm going to swing back to Auxilia now.

Now please GW, no more UM this edition. I've got too much to paint and we've eaten far better than we had any right to. Time for other factions to get the same love.

Oddly of all the ultramarines he is the one with backstory with the night bringer and would be the better fit narratively imo.

I feel sorry for the necron collectors, having rules locked behind a campaign set that exists as fan service to Titus.

While I'm a fan of the Space Marine games and a longtime fan of Necrons, I will be greatly disappointed if the Detachments aren't added to the app after release. If I need a digital code from the campaign books to use it, tables may well be flipped

So, is this the end of Ultramarine releases for a while?

Besides a named Dreadnought or a Tech-Priest, I can't imagine anything else they could release.

Calgar in Phobos armour.

Really nice unit, and quite a surprise too. Titus getting re-promoted back to Captain.

Models are nice, look forward to getting these.

Ultramarines are now getting on par with what the other ‘special’ chapters have, despite all the gnashing of teeth.

Makes sense for GW too, capitalise on SM2

No. There is only Titus now silly goose

Tetrarchs whose literal job it is to make sure the different regions are secure? Never heard of them

Ventris, who is still hunting the Nightbringer 20 years later as of  Swords of Calth? No

Cassius who loves going around attacking things and needs a new model? No

Calgar, who literally is having an arc where he feels like he's failed Guilliman because Ultramar has faded and he wants to prove his worth to the Primarch? Nah

Only Titus

G man brought them back when he woke up. They are very much a thing, we evem follow one around in the first Belisarius Cawl book (The Great Work).

4 Marines who sole duty it is to guard, secure and control the 500 worlds...

The tetrachs are more designated certain regions of the 500 worlds as it was recreated with 5 regions of which at least one of them was the chapter master of a different space marine chapter I believe. Ultramarines at its center and others designated to one of the four other regions or a fleet based chapter going around it all.

Guilliman in Jump Pack next please! (J/K)

Anyway, I can't believe it but I was totally right and guessed even the campaign part. The only part I missed was Titus. But the whole thing kind of smelled like the old online campaign days, but will they be as involved? I would so dearly love this to rival the old online campaign.

I run campaigns with friends. I'm just wrapping one up now. This will definitely be in the cards for our next one... I mean it has a map! If I can point to map once a week and tell my participants, "You are here" then I'm in.

I am the UM player in the group so this bodes well for me, but I want to see rules for Titus and crew. I do love the models, however I think the human crew could make for an awkward squad or table top presence. It kind of reminds me of when we had a Master of the Fleet, etc, etc and these guys kind did something, then they disappeared.

I'm glad to see the Necron model. But I do look forward to when GW gets operational enough one day to make 'squads' of things rather than try to maximize profits and build time by selling us a very expensive character sprue.  I'm a little disappointed Cawl hasn't drummed up some new squad type... I keep waiting for a Primaris "Centurion" squad or something similar.

Looks great though. Lots of good thing can come from the books. The whole Arkifane thing was kind of set up like this, but really didn't have a good campaign set up.

Does anyone know how they did the kneeling Ultramarine miniatures briefly shown in the trailer?image.thumb.png.ba07ce6a213b346d7a8219a5d722a646.png

Because those would be a very, very cool addition for various projects...

I'm absolutely astounded by the quality of 40k these days and thought this was fantastic. My inner 10 year old would never have believed we'd be getting animations on this level.

This is called  "500 Worlds", but looking at the material it might just be Vespator, which is Decimus Felix' territory. He appeared last in, iirc, The Great Work, so he might be busy on Sotha still before going back to his tour around the Sub-Realm. The other three have their own areas to deal with and might still be busy cleaning up agter the Death Guard, which they really can't take shortcuts with in regards to decontamination efforts.

Ventris' last chronological appearance might've also been Plague Wars, but regardless, it's not like he is hunting THE Nightbringer, as there are as many shards of it as the plot demands.

Cassius last mention was seemingly in 8th edition where it seems like he remains focused on the nids despite the plague war.

Calgar literally got a model just now, and rang in an Era where the next few years of anything GW puts out will have comment sections full of "Phobos Calgar?!?! When Bike Calgar!? CALGARNOUGHT!" in between all the "YAWN zzzZZZZzzzZZZZzzzzZZZ" that fill GW media channels. It's close enough that they are basically the same release window. Also he had a segment somewhere where he nutted up and got over his sense of ineffectivity.

Never mind that this is a huge ssegment of space and we literally don't know the story beats beyond the basics. Any of these characters might make an appearance or get mentioned.

okay, i´m being nitpicky now, but why does titus model has to have ugly cape with fur that would with space wolves way better?

It covers the pauldrons, makes him look way too static like statue and kinda like Coteaz update, isn´t needed...

The last new thing he drummed up for Admech was a sniper on stilts. I hope the Ultramarines look elsewhere for inspiration. Maybe Cawl’s intern or something.

And maybe I just haven’t seen it but that Nightbringer just looks too Grim Reaper for me. Somehow, I actually prefer the older model. But then I’ve told myself I’m not going to be a new model hater so, awesome job!

The model that was modified to make Titus has a cloak with big fluffy shoulders, so the sculptor probably just kept it for Titus.

Edit - the model:

The Inquisition was right about Titus after all

And Space Wolves don't have a monopoly on pelts. If anything there should be more pelts across the board; Lion pelts for DA, Leopard pelts for BA. Beastmen pelts on any faction cruel enough to skin Beastmen, At least NL, EC, and CSM keep the trend alive with Human skins, Zebra skins. and whatever ratty pelts CSM wear.

Don't get me wrong, GW will change what they want and have already, but the Nightbringer wasn't broken into Shards until 9 years after the Nightbringer (Ventris) book when the 5th edition Codex was released. As per the lore from 2002 to 2011, that was THE Nightbringer he was after. Even if retconned to be a Shard now there's still an existing history that could (have been or is yet to be) explored between the C'Tan and Ventris. If I recall correctly from The Silent King (DoF book 9) Ventris was treated as having the most experience fighting Necrons and the Imperium had been largely kept in the dark about the Necron threat until the end (?) of the Indomitus Crusade.

I'm quite curious to see how this all is explored with the new campaign books. Seeing a Destroyer Lord trying to unite all the Nightbringer Shards could be a variation of a dream come true for fans of older Necron lore.

Kind of wish this new character was just a generic Ophydian Lord instead of a named guy. I always wish I could slap a Lord in with my Ophydians. Oh well, looks great at least.

In fairness, I'd expect that he will be able to join them.
