There's been lots of box breaking for 3.0 - I've bought a few additional MK2 units - probably should just have bought a second box. Despite the rules, the models have really appealed to a lot of people - rule packs are going for £15-20 here in the UK also.

I have minimal interest in the Saturnine but definitely interested in some MkII whilst waiting for my beloved IV so I'm here for box breaks.

Will be using it for some more Veteran type units.

One thing we have discovered is that its a good idea to suspend the detachment restrictions when playing an escalation league, perhaps up to around 1500pts or so.

Otherwise what I would class as a 'fun little warhammer army,' of a selection of unit types & vehicles that give you a varied game, is not possible without the onerous character tax (which is too punitive at small points values).

I can only speak anecdotally, but I bought the box and traded away the book, Saturnine units and weapon platform for more MkII marines. The rules are simply too clunky for me to bother with - especially since everybody seems to agree that army composition and scenarios are vastly inferior. So I’ll just stick to collecting and maybe pick up 4th if it seems any better.

With the adventof the Skitarri journal, I think there might actually now be as many missions for HH3 already as there were for all of HH2?

Yep, I think they know which side their bread is buttered on. So they will keep promoting the game as more people playing will bring in more traffic to their site.

Their battle reports are certainly inspirational, but I can't bring myself to support or watch them due to whoever it was that reported to GW about the person that was leaking release info. Which feels like a snitch in the classroom telling on another kid to teacher, which is deserving of admonishion and ridicule.

Same honestly. On top of I really don't like watching 3rd edition games either.

This is the weekend before our big annual event. Attendance is down 40%. Geopolitical issues are a factor (less internationals willing to travel into the USA), but the level of interest due to the edition change is still very noticeable.
