Hi! I'm entering a 500 point speed-hammer tournament in a couple weeks and I'm struggling to get a solid list together. Rules are 500 points, 75 minute rounds, no epic heroes, combat patrol missions but with no secondaries. Currently looking at something like:

 

1x Captain (90 pts): Warlord, Bolt pistol, Master-crafted Bolter, Power Fist
Enhancement: Artificer Armour (+10 pts)

Intercessor Squad (80 pts)

Aggressor Squad w/ Boltstorm Gauntlets & Fragstorm Launchers(100 pts)
Company Heroes (105 pts)
1x Storm Speeder Hammerstrike (125 pts)

 

or

 

1x Captain (80 pts): Warlord, Bolt pistol, Master-crafted Bolter, Power Fist

Intercessor Squad (80 pts)

Company Heroes (105 pts)
1x Ballistus Dreadnought (150 pts): 
1x Impulsor (80 pts): Bellicatus Missile Array

 

Struggling to get a list that has the ability to stay on and take people off objectives. Also concerned about the presence of a big knight-like model. I'm tempted by Victrix (big point sink though, and can't take the champion or ancient as they're both epic heroes.) or by taking a pair of dreads, or a lancer/predator.

 

Any thoughts, ideas, or help would be appreciated!

Probably need more info on the rules as they seem to be mishmashing in a way that makes me suspicious.  Combat Patrol Missions, but not Combat Patrol rules?  Or some of the rules, and not others:?  Are you supposed to make your own list, or use a Combat Patrol?  Do you use Combat Patrol datasheets?  Other Combat Patrol Rules?  Is it the same board size?

 

I'm not a fan of the Company Heroes.  They're too "bi-polar" with a little of this, and a little of that, but still not knowing what they want to be.   2x5 or 1x10 or even 2x10 Intercessors with Target Elimination, and Krak AuxGLs are pretty interesting at 500 points

 

At 495 you can come in with an Apothecary attached to 10 Hellbalsters, and a Libby attached to 10 Intercessors.  At 500 Exactly you can do 1 Techmarine, 2 Ballistus Dreads, a Libby and 5 Intercessors.

Normal datasheets, making your own lists, just the combat patrol missions (minus secondaries), and otherwise normal comp 40k rules.

 

Yeah I'm unsure on the company heroes, they're fairly durable but they don't have the output I'd want. Block of ten intercessors could be decent, I've not run them in 10s since they got the new rule. Stuck between the idea of ten hellblasters or ten sternguard, but I suppose hellblasters can punch up fairly easily with Oath of Moment into vehicles.

Like I said I'm pretty suspicious.  There's a reason GW went with Combat Patrol Rules at this point level.  And there's a reason units like Intercessors don't have Target Elimination etc in Combat Patrol.  And we haven't gotten to Detachments and Enhancements yet.  I mean I wasn't even trying to be THAT GUY, and already came up with this stuff.  Two Dreads in 500 is mean.  Two dreads that heal is even meaner.  Then add the +1 to Hit on one for the Techmarine leading the two Dreads, and rerolling the hit roll on both for a Ballistus ability which leaves Oath for the 20 shots from your Intercessors who can bring back dead models because I now like the Apothecary better than the 4++ from the Libby as AP -2 or better probably won't be that common.  I don't know, maybe this sort of thing is supposed to be part of the "speed warhammer" thing.
