If tomorrow is an obvious tease for the new rumored sylvaneth character, and 24th is a Huron blackheart story.. then I think those 2 will likely be the Christmas reveals. ( i had hoped for eldar corsairs obviously )

Though it remains weird that there is just no associated warzone/setting or even rumors for things actually announced by GW ( tau twins, orkslayer votann and tyranid prime ) I wonder if they will be like snikrot in Arks of Omen.. released among the campaign but the minimalist of feature in the stories.

Some fools say Ghazghkull’s a goner, too.

I can't believe Angron did this. This is outrageous. We should latch onto this piece of info and rile each other up about it for years.

If the stories are just that – little short stories with no further implications – then I'd agree that the countdown is fun, but a bit thin. With that said, last year's, being fully rules-focussed, was of little interest to me either.

However, never one to look a gift equid in the mouth, I think it's fair to assume that the stories are foreshadowing releases, and are functioning like a text equivalent to the rumour engine. Coupled with the various rumours floating around and pre-dating the calendar, I think we're in for a treat!

I'll keep my excitement dampened until a wave of new releases is actually announced, but just off the top of my head the implications the stories have been giving are really exciting:

  • A new Yarrick – and by implication more action on Armageddon
  • Iron Warriors getting a series of new releases
  • A new Yriel and possible Corsairs...

If we get a story about the expert painting of a Ministorum Cathedral we know dropper bottles are coming :)

I hope they don't pull a World Eaters situation here again, releasing a codex for brand new factions in the closing months of an edition :ermm:

Rumour mill says Huron Blackheart gets a visit from the three warp denizens of Grotmas. They show him the errors of his ways and thus Huron becomes transformed into Goldenheart.

Apparently tomorrow's grotmas is still set in the mortal realms but is still about the red gobbo?

Tomorrow we’re sticking with the Mortal Realms, as Da Red Gobbo attempts to steal a prototype mechanical suit from a Hashutite inventor…

I didn't think AoS had a red Gobbo of their own...

I think they mean that metaphorically

Tomorrow will be an actual AoS model reveal and the 25th will be a 40K one.
If it’s not, I’m never getting hyped for Grotmas again because this has been absolutely dire.

To be fair, AoS has never had a grotmas reveal, so this would be the first. It's also best to go into these things with 0 expectations I've found.

I think the hedonites of slaanesh release was at least partly a Christmas reveal, but if I remember correctly that one was shared with 40k reveals, though right now I don't remember wich. Not too long before that there was the nurgle daemon/Mortals release wich was spread over several Christmas days to mimic that X day of Christmas song.

ZeroWolf… the red Gobbo isn’t real

Noooooo!

Next you'll be telling me that Grotmas isn't real and is just a flimsy, thinnly veiled attempt at marketing to keep us engaged with a product over Christmas!

I hope Da Red Gobbo gives you only a dirty sock for Grotmas

Spoiler

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

I'm gonna drop the "in today's article joke" here, because what the heck is this?

https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/qskksauw/grotmas-calendar-day-24-da-red-gobbos-big-heist/

The Grotmas mini this year is a Tinboy, right?

Looks like a Vostryan Guardsman, has a Lasgun and a sack with 40k looking Grenades in it.

So why is it apparently an AoS Mini?

Who decided this?

The scenario we got today is an AoS scenarios for letting Da Red Gobbo steal it.

Again, why is this AoS????

Usually Advent calendars end on the 24th day, but before us stands one final, ominous door. Just who or what could be behind it? There’s only one way to find out, and that’s by checking back in tomorrow. We wish you a very Merry Christmas – time zones permitting!

I'm hoping it's something amazing like an Ultramarine release!

Tomorrow Teaser:

I'm pretty the Red Gobbo himself is a 40k specific character who does not appear in Age of Sigmar directly. Age of Sigmar has the "Black Gobbo" character instead.

A really, really strange decision from them to choose to make Age of Sigmar game to jarringly shove 40k things into rather than just....make it 40k themed.

I get the feeling this was supposed to be a 40k scenario and then someone realised they gave AoS less with this calendar than they got last year as a pity prize for missing out on being part of it, so this had to be reworked to AoS to "make it up" (it doesn't).
