gideon stargreave
I decided to pull the trigger on some legions imperialis when my FLGS (shoutout Goblin Trader) had a Black Friday discount. so first things first, dealing with the weird undercutting on the guns step one - new scalpel blade and some careful cutting LameBeard, Shard of Magnus and Rusted Boltgun 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387180-the-blood-angels-of-the-andromache-sector-but-tiny/ Share on other sites
gideon stargreave
Last night I cleaned up forty marines and made a start on the armoury and motor pool. these kits are an absolute joy to build. They fit together perfectly, have almost no mould lines and are really intuitive. By far the best out of box stuff I’ve done in a long time. Even cleaning the marines is straight forward, though I shed quite a lot of blood with the new hobby blade. gideon stargreave
Yesterday I tried a whole bunch of different combinations of methods, inks and paints to get the colours down. I like all of them so I’m going to use them hodgepodge for some visual interest across the various bases. Next I’m going to work out a good black recipe at this scale for inductii/ death company inspired precursors Rusted Boltgun, Firedrake Cordova, Grotsmasha and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387180-the-blood-angels-of-the-andromache-sector-but-tiny/#findComment-6145791 Share on other sites
gideon stargreave
Variation on Red. At this scale individualisation is tricky. With that in mind I’m using four different inks and contrasts as a base across the army. A couple of minis will end up black as well. Here you can see the richness of the different reds come through. They now need some agrax/ nuln mix to add some contrast. gideon stargreave
Some unsteady steps with detail. The metal is all Vallejo alcohol based true metallics. Copper then gold. White gold and silver. They will get a wash to soften the highlights on the weapons. Next step however is the dreaded white Valkia the Bloody, Firedrake Cordova and Grotsmasha 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387180-the-blood-angels-of-the-andromache-sector-but-tiny/#findComment-6146707 Share on other sites
