Same for me. The crashing website is an issue listing for at least 6 weeks in a row. Got me to actually write a complaint to Warhammer customer support for the first time.

Got my item in the basket and had to wait 30min. Of course by then it was sold out. I envy every frater in the community who has already given up collecting the special editions. Safes them a lot of time, money and nerves ^^

I had given up on chasing the LE versions awhile ago, but wanted to see if the change of date and time made any difference - which it did.  It moved the site breakdown to a new time .

I do miss the occasional short story and/or afterword that they used to only put in the LE but my nerves are now much better.

Another pair of new novels.

Author Tom R Pike’s first full length Black Library novel follows Astra Militarum Lieutenant Kallisto Rytsar* who, when his company is decimated, must lead a ragtag group of surviving tanks and their crews on a mission to secure a vital manufactorum.

Unfortunately for Rytsar, they're not the only ones with their eyes on the complex, as a massive ork warband is on the way to loot it for themselves! With the xenos closing in, the Valhallan officer is forced to arm workers and the wounded in a desperate attempt to repel their attacks – can they hold out until reinforcements arrive?

Strike from shadow. Choose the place and time of battle. Seize victory by any means necessary. These are the doctrines that define the Raptors Chapter, doctrines which are put to the test under the most extreme circumstances in War and Shadow.

This new novel by William Crowe – whose previous credits include the Astra Militarum novel, Veterans of the Fall and various short stories – follows a demi-company led by Lieutenant Chandrel Voise, tasked with destroying a tendril of Hive Fleet Leviathan.

After arriving on an isolated world, with no hope of reinforcements or resupply, the unorthodox tactics of the Raptors are tested to the very limit as the hunters become the hunted. With every bolt round fired bringing the Space Marines closer to victory or defeat, the Lieutenant is left with a stark choice – save the world, or save the warriors under his command.

RAPTORS LETS GO

FEED IT INTO MY VEINS

Pretty nice cover too imo. I liked Veterans of the Fall so I am excited about this

Could this cover + Cain and Jurgen be a sign we are getting Valhallans?

Full release? Probably not since Catachans seem to be the last of the “Big 3” guard regiments to not have received a refresh yet and I can’t see GW bean counters queueing Vallahans before them.

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if they got a Kill Team release soon though.

Either way, it’s nice to see them getting love in the books & lore outside of the Cain series, which was always a bit too humorous for me.

Always been fond of Raptors since their expansion in the old FW Badab War books. I would love to see a novel format exploration of their Chapter culture and views.

In fact, a novel like this would fit right into a lineup where a Space Marine Chapter gets involved in a conflict and that gets used to showcase the Chapter's culture, idiosyncrasies, leaders, etc. They could call it something like Space Marine Battles or something...

Nah, that'll never work.

conflict

A battle, you might say.

A space marine battle

It could be a part of a group of novels about Space Marine Battles. A Space Marine Battle Series

Poppycock I say.

Crowe is on my watch list of BL authors, so the Raptors book is a definite.  I will have to go back and reread the Pike short that his book spun out of, as I don’t recall it or his style of writing.

Must say, I’m really enjoying the weekly BL update on WarCom.  Finally, something to look forward to wrt BL and its output.  Now where the hell is Scouring II??

Does anyone know why Raldoron isn't releasing through third parties (Barnes and Noble, Audible/Amazon to name two) until the 22nd? Did I miss that delay announcement somewhere?

Nope, my German third party didn’t had that problem

Just my opinion: This special edition is ugly. Has a cartonish style that isn't funny and makes me wonder why anybody would choose this for Warhammer40k (you know, the Grim Dark future where it is all about despair and war?)

Also, the trend (if it if is one anymore at this point) is set for another launch on a Wednesday

I think it’s just a case of giving the scalpers their own day and time to clog the website.  I attempted to purchase the first LE Wednesday release out of curiousity.  As expected the site was overwhelmed by the number of bots attempting access.  I didn’t bother with the second - tbh I actually forgot about it until too late
