This stuff is all rad and should just be available all the time.
Based on how long it has taken me to still not get the beastmen I ordered, or my WH+ model, I don’t think I’ll be doing MTO from them again.

Might have to get the servohaulers. Didn't they use to come with a big crane too though?

It does say when you order that it can take up to 6 months to get it

This one is weird to me because these kits are so popular in so many different games within the GW ecosystem that I genuinely didn't know they were out of OOP

No one asked me, but if I were James I'd treat these like the Tac Squad box and run it until people stop buying it (which will be never).

Bummed to know prices will now be inflated over this.

Very glad to get the chance to buy a Tectonic Fragdrill, I missed out originally and have been hard to find since.

Also the Mechasite Minori - does anyone recall what set these were originally released in?

They were from Kill Team Salvation.

It's odd that this is the first opportunity to buy the terrain from 3 of that season's Kill Team boxes...they all sold out quickly at the time, as usual, and were never seen again until now!

I'm also really pleased about the Tectonic Fragdrill - I think it may have been the first recent (2018 or later) Imperialis or Mechanicus kit to go out of production and it took me by surprise when I hadn't bought it.

Unfortunate that they don't include any of the pipe sets.

This - I would happily buy 2-3 pipe sets. Probably more given the chance. great scatter terrain and ties the mechaicus stuff together well.

I have a load of Mechanicus terrain from several 'big boxes' plus extras from Conquest magazine. I also picked up the terrain for Bheta Decima cheap for some mid level platforms.
Between the different terrain themes I have from Kill team sets and this I coud do a credible 'Crystal Maze' of different zones. Thats actually quite tempting as a project.
Best Richard O'Brien impersonation... 'to the Ork zone! Waagghhh!'

anyway.... I'm tempted by the drill and maybe the batteries

I just don’t understand the little side drill or the servo arm..  surely they’d get in the way when drilling down?

The whole thing doesn't go into the ground; those pipes and tubes would get shredded by loose rocks and detritus.

Just the drill part goes into the ground; the tracked part that it hangs from lowers it down to ground levels, those other arms are probably either some sort of surveying or stabilization tech, and then the big drill head would go down on what I assume is a telescoping shaft; modern shafts would be drilled down, separated, and then another length added onto them for something like an oil well drill, but this is the future so who knows what the exact tech is.

But for sure, the big tank part on the top of the drill isn't going underground.  At least that's how I read it; everything under the ring that the tiny baby arm is attached two might get underground, but everything above it would be above ground at all times.

It's a shame it's so hard to find Ray Dranfield's old articles - I seem to remember there's an awful lot of cross compatibility with the frag drill, that lets it be attached to the servo hauler trains or to expand the lift system attached to it into other pieces.

I'm tempted to grab some pieces to style out my Ash Wastes/ Heart of Ghur board project, but I've got to hold out for the next round of Imperialis terrain and/or a reprint of the Gallowdark upgrade sprues.

Not as exciting as last year, for me.

Will depend on price but based on previous MTO I think it will be a no.

It's a shame because if they were part of the everyday range then I would probably end up grabbing them at some point.

Ooh interesting. i might pick up some stuff, depending on price.

This is definitely the best terrain stuff they did afaic. Much better than the constant ruined buildings, great for necro, kill team and 40k. I've got 1.5 of the Charadon boxes, which were quite good value at the time - pity there isn't something like that again

and then picked up a fair few bits through the hachette mags - managed to get quite a few of the straight platforms, but sadly not any of the supports

Would quite like a set of the Macroplasma Batteries. The Generatorum Hub is cool but not very modular, so I'll probably skip that. And then I'll look at the cost of the walkways and the drill, though I think prices will probably put me off. I should really find some 3rd party 3d printed stuff that fits with it.

The generatum hub is actually quite a nice piece as all of the other mechanicum bits do fit onto it, to let you add a few extra layers or increase the size of some LOS blocking terrain (which the Sector Mechanicus can be a little short on).

Also kind of makes things look like they make a bit more sense as a bigger factory/processing plant by being a central hub for the various other components to connect onto.

But a little bit easier to consider when it's spare bits from a kill team box.
