What model or unit would make your army a better force to be reckoned with (or just more fun)?

Imperial Knights with peasant household troops?

Fast moving Dune Buggies/Technicals for Tallarn Desert Raiders?

Close Combat Tau Battlesuits for the Farsight Enclaves?

Servitors bodyguards for Techmarines?

Heavy weapons for Adeptus Custodes that aren't attached to 300 dollar resin tanks?

1000 Sons Servitors with buckets and Vacuums to rescue fallen Rubric Marines?

Erilim for the Blood Angels. They are described in the book as Chaplains in training and take to the battlefield in black armour and winged jump packs like a dark version of Sanguinary Guard.

for my armies :

Exodites -- Actual exodites that are not conversions :p But at a minimum, and since the name of the game is a single model/unit; the 2nd edition unit back as a nice kit.

Corsairs ( yes Im cheating ) -- A Stellarch ( or as it probably will be called.. corsair prince, but I will keep pushing the Stellarch name nonetheless.) similar amount of options as the Autarch.

Ynnari -- Ynnari variant of the Exalted sorcerers kit, makes you 3 generic characters ( maybe covering 2 datasheets.)

Drukhari -- its hard to choose.. I have so many wishes here and at least 1 for each sub-element. I go for a very big arena beasty.. wych variant of the AoS Ironjawz pig ( not a pig though. ) building both a unit datasheet and a character datasheet.

Chaos Daemons -- If they stay, then a generic battleline of shadowy proto lesser-daemons, bonus points if there are vaguely unfinished references to elements in finalised mark daemons. If they dont stay as a seperate army, then a 40k specific Herald for each of the 4. ( counts, because they now are 4 different armies.) preferably not just "lesser daemon, but lieutenant style.. I like it if they stand apart from the line infantry ( as AoS did with Slaanesh and Tzeentch WHU warbands.) and with a stronger role than just lietenant.. like a Khorne houndsmaster that also has a leashed flesh hound.

Thousand Sons -- Thrall wizards, not characters.. a quite simple GEQ / cultist unit like.. while having some sort of rifle equivalent staffs.. and obvious fantasy and mutation elements, they also should be very clearly futuristic ( maybe see them as corrupted navigators/sanctioned psykers and go from those uniform designs.)

Thrallwizards.jpg.c080857f2cc1e93d5bcb2cdeb5da4439.jpg

Kroot ( I have a lot of old unassembled ones, maybe I will go there again, so it counts ) -- well.. something like this ( and I actually think kroot riding not kroot things is flavorful ) :

krootsludge.thumb.jpg.224aaa825b59ac23a4a51faf59bb7296.jpg

btw, the leftovers could/might be the one thing I think Deathguard really still need : ( these both started as a conversion plan )

There's a lot for TSons that we could do with...

Psyker and/or Rubric Dreadnought

A psyker Cultist unit.

Another Infantry Marine option (Rubric Havocs, Assault Rubrics, etc.)

A flying Infantry/Mounted unit for the Disc Sorcs to lead that's not a Tzaangor (could overlap with the above).

A unique model for the Terminator Sorc (rules are fine, but we're using a CSM import kit and the official codex image is a SoT/CSM Termie Sorc kitbash).

A far easier army to point at what we need is White Scars, that being a generic Bike Captain.

Oh, and proper multipart Outriders, but we currently have 2 bike character options and one of those is a named character.

ETA:

Less "new model/unit" and more "modified unit", but the DW Talonstrike team should be able to take Suppressors (pretty much just add the Autocannon as a weapon and the number they can take, the actual Marines can use the non-gravis statline in the unit).

WE need quite a bit as well.

HQ a chaos lord on foot would be nice to lead Berzerkers. A chaos lord with jump pack to lead a jump pack squad of some sort.

Units. Bloodcrushers as already mentioned, give the mounted chaos lord a squad to lead please! A heavy weapons squad of some sort. A jump pack squad of some sort.

Vehicles: Bring back the rules for the Defiler variant called the Slaughterfiend that could carry Berzerkers into battle. That things was awesome. Also the Kytan Ravager daemon engine, Blood Slaughterer and Brass Scorpion in plastic.

I'm sure EC need more as well, but I don't play them so am unsure of what is wanted/needed other than having the same access to the standard Chaos armory that the other Chaos legions get access to.

I would love Psychic Carnifex and Tyranid Shrikes.

My wishlist for other armies:

  • 3 of the 4 mono-God CSM need the rest of their range.
  • T'au could use more auxiliaries; show the weird, minor races of 40k.
  • Harlequins should have their own wraiths. expand the range so they are an actual army.
  • Ynnari need more unique units as not to rely much on soup.
  • Exodites and Corsairs should be in the game, even if only in KT.

So, pretty much a Judiciar with a jet pack? They could definitely add that relatively easily, I'd imagine.

Pipe dream - Massed heavy flamer terminators for Salamanders. Not something that's gonna happen, but joyously over the top and very thematic  Salamanders love them some flame, and they've got a lot of TDA. So, just for appearances.

Anything steel legion for IG.

Id like blood angels to get a primaris version of their crimson paladins.

gravis armor, option of eviscerators, or power weapon and shield, or a power glaive.

eviscerator- stats that we have now

power weapon- stats we see now

power glaive- A4 S5 AP-2 2D <lethal hits>

ability

warrior elite

this unit gets +2 on charge rolls

or something like that.

For my chaos army....

in the Gaunts Ghosts (Traitor General), there are these demon engines that help enforce law and order on chaos conquered worlds.

I forgot their name...

but they sound like a cool concept and utterly weird.

These would be cool for my chaos army.

Excubitors are what you’re talking about. Wirewolves and Glyfs would be a cool addition too. As would some of the cool tanks Abnett describes.

For my armies I’m relatively happy except for black of close combat breachers.

Non-40k (heresy, I know) I want a gargant on a mumakil but I lack the £120 for that conversion right now…

Steel Legion Rough Riders would be a treat; and I'd love to see a Catachan commandos special unit with lots of character. Things like a dog handler, a Catachan-themed ogryn, lots of different knives and guns...

They are not even my armies but I do think 1K Sons, ECs and WEs should be expanded to the same level as DG. A couple of bespoke vehicles or daemon engines, unique Terminators and so on.

Imperial Knights - Household troops, feudal or Mechanicus-aligned infantry designed to protect their nobles

Imperial Agents - Inquisition stormtroopers.

Votann - Dreadnought/Wraithlord equivalent walker or hover beatstick

Those are just my armies though. There are plenty of other armies that need some love, like the cult legion armies aside from DG, and Harlequins/Grey Knights.

I painted up a squad of Scions to represent Men-at-Arms for my Knights (using a suitable squad from Imperial Agents).

I think Daemons really need some love. Considering how pervasive the warp is in the lore I think they’re very one dimensional. In game terms I’m not sure quite how it would be handled but khorne seems to just be bloodletter mini, bloodletter with horse or a huge bloodletter. There needs to be things that are basically just teeth, or blades, tentacles - you name it.

Titans just need to be plastic tbh and that would make the range accessible but I’d like a lot more direct integration between titans/knights/guard

I've considered using either AoS Steelhelms with converted lasguns or, more likely since my House is Mechanicus-aligned, the new HH Tech-thralls.

Tech thralls do look good, particularly for Mechanicum-aligned Houses.

I play both Votann and Knights. Votann obviously need a walker unit, like a dreadnought. Knights would like a household guard so they're not overly reliant on the Imperial Agents.

However, I want to take it in a different direction. I want a swarm of E-COG units that the Grimnyr and Brokhyr Iron Master can lead, a new battleline unit so we're not stuck with just Hearthkyn. And for Knights, I want a hover knight with big grav tracks instead of legs.

For Thousand Sons, I want some unique Daemon Engines. I want it to be gribbly, and mutated. Like a bionic Mutalith, or some amalgam of Screamer and hovercraft.

For Kroot, I want a Greater Knarloc. Something big and monstrous. Give it a suitable powerful gun on its back, like what the Krootox have, but on steroids.

For Sisters of Battle, Im overall pretty happy with the range. The only thing I'd love to see is a generic living saint kit, with customization options to the level of the Daemon Prince kit.
