He decides to put them on his home objective and hide them I claim the other flank with scouts and have instant pressure on him. He deploys carefully and keeps complaining about my drop pod he has to hide from The GH don't matter and are just there for an extra drop My SR GH (after I redeploy them) Eradicators Headtakers My DS Inceptors Logan Drop pod + hellblasters *I just realized I'm probably over the reserve limit and need to redeploy eradicators and inceptors to reach this result...in future games I can only redeploy 1 wolf scout His DS 2 falcons plus units inside He has 4 transports total...3 holds harlies + 3 troupe masters and 1 falcon holds a dark reaper I use redeploy to shift my wolf scouts based on his deployment and then put the GH into SR (this enhancement redeploy helps me get around the HT and Eradicators taking up the limit) TURN 1A He wins the roll to go first Scout moves don't do anything...we are already both in position and can't push forward He draws SABOTAGE and EXTEND BATTLELINES He pushes his transport up to kill my top right wolf scouts He uses his ability to hop back in the transport for an easy kill and to keep his harlies safe Unfortunately for him I used my haywire mine and killed 3 harlies so he didn't get away without taking some losses He scores extend and holds onto sabotage TURN 1B I draw MARKED FOR DEATH and EXTEND BATTLELINES I spend time looking at the board before deciding my turn Bad news for him is he deployed so far back he couldn't zone me out with his movement despite advancing The hellblasters have room top right to land on the objective and shoot up his transport I put baby mark on his transport that just took middle and spend CP on my remaining scouts to advance and charge They push up ready to pounce on the harlies that disembark I put my oath on top right skyweavers. I want to threaten to kill them with overwatch and keep him away Finally...I activate the +1 to shoot doctrine and lock in the battle plan Murderfang advances onto the objective Bjorn pushes up to the wall to put MF in his 6" aura to potentially score if MF lives I advance my intercessors BACKWARDS to zone out my backfield I regret having no cheap wolves right now b/c there are massive holes in my lines...I make sure the holes I leave have clear LOS so I can counter attack on my turn I smoke the transport and he deploys opposite my scouts to make their charge harder. The scouts fail the charge The hellblasters however are now 7" away and MAKE their charge and wipe out the surviving harlies I score baby marked and my combi LT starts sabotage bottom left on the objective Turn 2A He ditches sabotage before his turn He gets AREA DENIAL and MARKED I mark Bjorn the intercessors and the drop pod He baby marks the scouts in middle He goes all in…pushes hard and brings in all his reserves Falcon + Dark reapers drop in bottom left to kill murderfang He sends a squad of skyweavers in as well He lines up jester and dark reapers to kill HB He maneuvers so that HB have no range and can’t fire back on them He pushes a transport to mid for area denial as well I haywire his transport in the middle for 4/6 wounds After his movement I rapid ingress head takers bottom left to deal with dark reapers and a falcon Murderfang dies to dark reaper + sky weaver + falcon shooting Hellblasters lose 4 to death jester and 3 to dark reapers Sky weavers make 8” multi charge OVER the drop pod and kill last HBs but LT lives I land 3 wounds but he makes every save...crap He scores baby mark and area denial Turn 2B I draw Seize and Overwhelming force I need to clapback hard this round Eradicators will come in right flank to smoke the falcon Inceptors can drop left flank to kill Dark reapers in his deployment zone thanks to 6" drop Bjorn can wals thru wall to middle to flame any harlies that hop out of boats (1 CP for this) I use Logan to activate a second round of +1 shooting doctrine and lock it in I place my oath on his 4 man skyweavers b/c I need to scare him from coming out hard with melee then hit and running away to safety LT runs away from combat but stays on the point top right Eradicators get +1 to wound and smoke the falcon...he disembarks harlies out of Bjorn flamer range Intercessors get 4 shots at harlies but fail to kill anything Now I need to kill middle transport for Bjorn Inceptors split fire and put 2 models into transport and 4 into dark reapers...they flub hard and fail to kill starweaver in the middle with 2 wound remaining (he made 3/3 4++) Also fail to kill dark reapers off...only kill 3 With no easy harlies to fry Bjorn fires at transport himself...he fails to do ANY damage (this thing is making every single 4++ What an absolutely horrible shooting phase!!! Bjorn charges starweaver but I choose not to tank shock b/c he can disembark outside consolidation range...I will smash it in melee Bjorn lands 3 wounds and starweaver makes all 4++ That is 8/8 4++ for a near death starweaver this turn…I fail to score a second kill for overwhelming because of it abd his harlies are safe instead of being burned to a crisp by Bjorn Headtakers save my turn by annihilating dark reapers + Maugan ra and 2 skyweavers They didn’t have any melee buff but lance and sustain was enough into weak aeldari...I consolidate LT and headtakers into the falcon leaving 1 headtaker touching the objective He kills my drop pod in melee top right He picks up his top right starweaver and puts it into SR Turn 3A He draws bring it down + Display of might He moves to kill inceptors with his special bikes and gives them ignore overwatch He falls back with Falcon bottom left and move blocks me He decides to leave harlies INSIDE transport and kill Bjorn with shooting I rapid ingress Logan to middle...I figure Bjorn is dead and I need someone to deal with that gdamn transport + harlie squad He starts shooting with the harlies and transport...I activate smoke and Bjorn survives the fusion pistols at point blank and the voidweaver shots and haywire skyweaver shots that follow!!!! Smoke was worth its weight in gold!!! Bjorn kills transport in melee and forces harlies out...they hop out and move block bjorn with their placement Inceptors lose all but 1 man but the survivor prevents a 14" run away to safety...instead he can only move 6" back Bottom right his harlis kill all but 1 intercessor and tri point him while taking my home objective He scores display of might but fails to get BiD thanks to Bjorn Turn 3B I draw Engage + No prisoners I am riding an emotional high to start this turn...my last turn of shooting was enough to cost me the match...but he just had the same experience and I am in prime position to capitalize on it I activate the melee buff doctrine and go ALL IN!!! GH come in top right with oath to shoot his skyweavers Full rerolls to hit and wound b/c he is on on an objective Bjorn gets 1 CP to step thru the harlies trying to move block him and goes to melee the starweaver and flames the harlies as he walks past...the troupe master is the only survivor Headtakers annihilate the falcon Logan kills the troupe master in melee then consolidates back onto the objective Bottom right...Eradicators grenade + shooting kills all the harlies off my home objective Very good turn Score wise the game is 34-30 in my favor…but I now have board control All harlies are gone…his last scary unit is the 4 man skyweaver mid left and they are forced to go after my headtakers now Turn 4A He draws establish locus + Bring it down (retained) Recycles establish and gets cleanse Bjorn goes down to haywire bikes Headtakers lose 3 to shooting and charge of the skyweavers but armor of contempt was enough to keep them mostly alive Swing back kills the entire unit of skyweavers Opponent concedes here and I forget to get a SS after talking with him Turn 4B I decide to play out turn 4B solo just for practice...my first game ever with this detachment I draw defend stronghold and recover assets GH advance and kill rangers with oath top right I put GH in this list to be bullies and they exceeded my expectations....with oath they wipe weak things off objectives with ease Logan walks up and kills Eldrad Last inceptor kills last dark reaper He has death jester as only unit remaining now Turn 5B I score cleanse and establish locus FINAL THOUGHTS SW victory 79-36!!! Harlies are extreme MEQ killers and their hit and fade tricks can drive a melee army crazy But these are Wolves with guns baby…and these guns HURT First thing I noticed is that the psychological factor of this list is MASSIVE In deployment he didn’t want to put anything down anywhere Anything on the line is in range of the wolf scouts Anything that gives a firing angle is gonna die to hellblasters Chaff can’t even screen out b/c then I bring in GHs turn 1 (thanks Logan!) and mow them down This was a friendly scrimmage but he clocked out (twice even!!!) This was a 4.5 hour game and mostly used during his moves I can see the clock being a factor when I do competitive matches due to the alpha strike capabilities this list has I did lack units to zone out and do sacrificial actions. Not sure how to address that right now. Gonna keep play testing this for a bit and come back to it later.
