Oh my, for me his face is on par with the updated coteaz. Rest is ok but definitely urgh was my first reaction. Shame as he's so iconic.

Appropriate for a Christmas release that he's now a fat bloke wearing red with a white(ish) fur trim.

 

The flasks even look like christmas lights.

Pretty sweet. I kinda like his face tbh. It's a little cartoony sure, but overall decent and everything else is on point. The Eldar rune hanging on tabard also is a good indication on the rumoured upcoming Yriel / Corsairs.

Yeah, not 100% sure on it myself but twigged what was causing it. His jaw is too wide, like the animated DC TV Harvey Dent.

I hate the face and the pose. His face is too mechanical. The rest looks really good, but the tactical rock combined with him standing on the tip of his toes looks bad. I'd probably get rid of the tassets on his armour as well. Fairly disappointing Christmas reveal compared to the others. The Eldar and Chaos box set reveal remains unbeaten. In general I'm happy to see Huron again, but I won't be reading any new fiction about him. Looking forward to any new models they will announce.

Didn't Huron already had eldar doodads ? ( same with trazyn )

 

I'm also one who does like the head, it emphasizes for me chaos corruption without going into mutation. 

 

I'm on mobile for a while..somebody has a better still of the two silhouettes of the command to over analyze?

( wondering if the one on the left has the xenos gun )

This...kinda sucks. Boring pose, tactical rock, unnecessary cloak and pretty crummy facesculpt. About the only thing this has over the (really, really good) original is the size.

I love the model. The face is goofy and ugly, but I think that fits. The paint job probably isn't helping, but I think a darker, more gritty paint job with discoloration near the edges of the flesh will really go a long way to giving him a jacked up Frankenstein look.

 

The chupacabra hamadrya looks great. I'm glad he's just part of the base and not a separate piece.

 

I'm also a fan of the Eldar trophies. CSM vs Aldari is one of my favorite match ups going back to Ulthwé attacking Talos and his warband in Void Stalker. Years ago I bought the Eldritch Omens set and gifted the Eldar to a friend, so I like the idea of having some Eldar trophies on a big character like this.

Edit: I now see he always had the Eldar trophies. We'll, I'm glad he kept them.

Sadly his head to me looks like it’s actually metal under skin instead of cybernetic replacements, he looks like an old Terminator art, which I fully respect the designer going for that, but I think it’s resulted in something that looks different to how I imagined Huron 

 

everything else though is cool, I like the axe, the new claw is nice, the corsairs logo on his leg, he looks like a pirate in power armour, just the face give me Disney treasure planet vibes (btw loved that movie as a kid)

I like the scale and presence, I'm on board with the face being a bit frankenstien like and gnarly.

 

The base is meh, but it oddly shows to me he's been upgraded to proper big bad level. The characters with those varieties of bases tend to be monsters in game and have more narrative oomph.

 

The armour being a bit more of and towards primaris is an interesting choice. I wonder if he might get a detachment that allows use of some primaris units.

Honestly really pleased with this, base aside. Also worth noting the rumours also have some more stuff alongside Daddy Blackheart;

• Command Unit
• An additional unit with "Hunters" in the name

Could see an upgrade sprue ala Night Lords coming as well.

Excellent trailer. Especially as the map that was burning looked an awful lot like something from the old IA books, which I thought was a nice throwback.

I actually expected him to be more mechanical, if I’m honest, but even though I can sortof see what people mean when they say his face is a bit goofy, I really don’t mind it, given how organic most of it is.

Your honour, I love him.

 

He looks as gnarly and vicious as his cyborg pirate butt should. The fur cloak, despite being quite ubiquitous among Chaos characters these days, does help in adding a "reaver lord" air to him. And I also like the addition of the Red Corsairs symbol to his leg plate.

 

Very nice all around. Can't wait to see his pals (as well as the other Corsairs).

Regarding his pals, here's hoping the right silhouette is related to the servo arm claw rumour engine (dear gods please prove the berzerker surgeon to be fake).
