40k New Huron Blackheart

I think that it is a decent sculpt, far better than the old one in terms of imposing size and a better position. Like most, I don't enjoy the face, it really doesn't work for me but maybe painted by a non-'Eavy Metal painter it will be better. If nothing else, just slam a cool helmet on him and he'll be fine. Pity I don't really have a use for him, but I'll probably get him anyway.

I think the face would be fine if the lower jaw and lower teeth weren’t so large. Other than those details looks like a pretty good model.

Looks pretty cool. I am more excited to see what sort of unique miniatures the Red Corsairs will be getting. More variety with Chaos marines is always welcome.

I'd want that because I thought his rules were somewhat neat. However, a recent artwork (in fact one above) doesn't show him super mutated or had "work" done. 

 

A more chaosy update would be welcome though!

I like the model pose and details are good, I like the face in that it’s a bit crazy and ugly which fits with what he’s been through. That said there is something oddly caricature about it.

 

overall it’s a good update to the old model in my view. But I’m also not a chaos player

Everyone's critiques are silly & baseless except for the one I'm about to make: why is he on a tactical rock outside? It should be in doors, on a ship.

I think there's a couple of things about the face I'm not convinced by, but that could be fixed by a paint job. 

 

The biggest one is the weird decision to paint the scarring around the bionics in that purple - I guess they were trying to highlight the sculpt but the consequence is the scarring on his jaw looks a bit like he's drooling.

 

I'm also not convinced by the nose - I think they've aimed for "repeatedly broken" and landed on "button."

 

Finally, I'd drop the cape and have kept the chainmail as a couple of others have said, if only to differentiate from Abaddon a bit.

Well, I agree this is underwhelming.

But if I cut off that cape and put a Night Lord helmet on, it will be fine.

I am also not a fan of the big belt- looks too much like Abaddon.

Love it! And love how his face is stapled onto the metal skull. There really isn’t much left of the “original” Huron. Physically or personality wise.

I am happy becouse this will spawn a lot of awesome conversions, as it is not bad, but not satisfying for a lot of us! I will base mine on the early 2000(I think) artwork! But probably with the sweet old chaos vehicle half/metal head.

Getting the skelebob from belial might be a good bit. Bit of cutting and rejigging will probably do wonders.

1 - Forgeworld Huron

2 - new Huron

3 - old metal Huron.

Man of culture coming in strong with the Treasure Planet reference. I may have to revise my opinion on the head sculpt!

I honestly think a more subtle paintjob with less contrasting colours will make his face look a lot better.

 

The model is a clear upgrade over the original. I see a lot of people referencing art, but this model could represent Huron as more and more time has gone on, in the most current timeline. There would be changes.
